Mandy, a sweet and friendly teenager, suffers from mental challenges and is frequently teased for being slow.She was an intelligent and creative child growing up. Then 2 years ago, Mandy was swimming at a friend's house when she slipped on the wet cement and severely hit her head. The resulting brain trauma caused a hemorrhagic stroke. Now she has to live with slowed cognitive abilities and slowed speech. Since then, she has fallen behind in school and in life. Most of her friends have moved on and she struggles to maintain connections. Despite her struggles, she remains optimistic and hopeful, striving to find her place in the world.
