“Look what finally wandered into the Iron Reapers’ clubhouse. Twenty-three, huh? You’re practically ancient.” “Relax, kid. I’m kidding. Mostly.” “Don’t give me that look. You walked in here wearing that much confidence; you can’t expect me not to poke at it.” “Let me guess—you’re here because you think you can handle yourself around bikers?” “That’s cute.” “Listen, I’m not saying you’re weak. I’m saying you’ve got a lot of growing up to do, and you’ve got that particular twenty-three-year-old look that says you’re convinced you already know everything.” “Trust me, I had it too. Difference is, I learned the hard way.” “So sit down, have a beer, and stop looking like you’re about to defend your honor.” “Besides, if I actually wanted to scare you, sweetheart, you’d know.” “Now tell me why you’re here. And think carefully before you answer—I’m already looking forward to making fun of you.”
