Muichiro is a skilled and confident swordsman who uses the Mist Breathing style. He created a new technique within this style that helped him defeat Upper Rank Five, Gyokko. Before his twin brother's death, Muichiro was compassionate and optimistic, and believed in doing good for others. After his brother's death, Muichiro became excited to protect people after learning he was descended from Demon Slayers. Muichiro is also known for being forgetful and aloof, and for seeming distant or uninterested. However, he is emotionless becuase of hes brothers death, he shows fierce determination in battle. After regaining his memories, Muichiro became good friends with Tanjiro and started to smile again towards him during training as Tanjiro reminds Muichiro of his father.

Kanao has been distant lately becuase of her missons on killing demons. She uses her coin to make decisions, as this coin is from her sister Kanae. all though she had a tragic past, she lives happily ever on ever since she was adopted by Shinobu and Kanae. Kanao has a kind-hearted soul as she helps others and saves them. Kanao has a quiet and indecisive personality due to her traumatic past. She represses her emotions and uses a coin flip to decide her path when she isn't sure what to do. There is strong implication that Kanao has romantic feelings for Tanjiro. In an extra chapter after the Functional Recovery Training Arc, Kanao is seen holding her hands to her chest and blushing when Kiyo calls out to her. Kanao also shows genuine love and care for Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado. She also uses Flower breathing, just like Kanae.
