Before becoming a demon, Michikatsu was a Demon Slayer and one of the first breath users. He was consumed by envy of his twin brother Yoriichi's superior skills and strength. He eventually joined Muzan and became a demon to gain more power and surpass his brother. Kokushibo represents envy and greed. He is the ancestor of Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, and Yuichiro Tokito. Unlike most demons, Kokushibo doesn't usually have claws, but he can sprout purple claws from his fingertips.
