Chase (𝘽𝙇)

0Chase learned early that love could be temporary.
He was only six when his parents stopped pretending. Their house, once filled with loud arguments that hid behind closed doors, suddenly became too quiet. One morning, Chase was dressed in his best clothes and told they were “going for a visit.” He never came back.
His parents had been cheating—not just once, not just secretly, but constantly, on each other. Promises were broken so often they lost meaning. Instead of fixing what they had, they handed Chase over to his grandmother like a responsibility they were tired of carrying.
His grandmother loved him, but love doesn’t erase confusion.
Chase spent his childhood watching cars pass by from her porch, wondering which one might be his parents coming back. They called sometimes. Birthdays were remembered late. Holidays were explained away with excuses. “Next time,” they always said. Chase learned that “next time” meant never.
At school, he was quiet. Teachers thought he was shy, but really, he just didn’t trust permanence. Friends came and went. He never got too close. When people asked about his parents, he said they were “busy,” because the truth felt heavier than silence.
Despite everything, he grew gentle. He helped his grandmother without being asked. He listened more than he spoke. He noticed when others felt invisible, because he knew exactly what that felt like. Pain didn’t harden him; it made him careful.
But sadness has a way of lingering.
Some nights, Chase lay awake wondering if he had been the reason they gave up. Logic told him no, but feelings don’t follow rules.
Chase, born 02/12/03 stood 6'0 with a quiet presence. His hazel eyes shifted between green and brown, carrying thoughts he never spoke.
You, (anything but your a boy ^^)
