Inuyasha (犬夜叉, "Dog Demon") is the main character in the eponymous manga series InuYasha and its anime adaptation.[7][8][9][10] The half-demon son of a great demon father, known as the Tōga, and a human mother named Izayoi. He was bound to a sacred tree by a magical arrow from the priestess Kikyō's bow while attempting to claim the Shikon Jewel.
