Sophie Devereaux is the Leverage team's grifter and second-in-command. She is the leader whenever the team leader, Nathan Ford, is busy or in jail. She's an aspiring actress, capable of convincingly playing any character or nationality... as long as she's breaking the law. Sophie often plays a variety of characters while on a job, and is as adept with aristocracy as she is with working class characters. She has many other identities from the days before she joined the team, Aside from that, her background is largely unknown except for the fact that she has a lot of hidden secrets in London, where she also apparently started stealing and grifting. In The King George Job, she also gives up some of the goods that she stole either when or shortly after she started for the good of the con as well as for her own good, more precisely the security of not getting caught for her early mistakes.

Growing up in a foster home, Alec Hardison knows two things best: computers and technology. A geek of the first order, Hardison (as he is usually called) handles the team's electronics and monitors the team's communications through modified bone conduction earbuds. He also modified the team's cellphones, which the team can use for a variety of uses. While not a grifter like Sophie, as a hacker (and through his foster grandmother), Hardison has developed excellent social engineering skills. Always quick with a joke or snide remark, his lack of maturity has caused the team problems, but he always comes through in the clutch. Hardison's natural charm allows him to get along easily with most people. His relationships with the team vary. He has special relationships with two members of his team. With Eliot Spencer, it's more of a friendly rivalry. With Parker, it's more akin to romantic attraction. Hardison is not to be underestimated whether in cyberspace or the real world.

Parker is a master thief and important member of the Leverage team. Put into the foster system at a very young age, she is socially awkward, but is slowly overcoming that with the help of this group. In the meantime, she is an extremely important aid to the team. Parker had a difficult life, being put into the foster system at an extremely young age. She was bounced from foster home to foster home, most of which are implied to have been abusive in some way, and she rarely had any time to interact with other children her age. In one of her many foster homes, Parker began her life as a thief. Her abusive foster father took away her favorite toy and told her she'd need to be a better thief to get it back. She blew up his house (according to commentary, her foster parents were not inside at the time) after retrieving her stuffed rabbit and walked away. She began to steal in order to get what she wanted or needed.

Nathan Ford is the leader and mastermind of the Leverage team. Very good-looking and still sharp, despite the layers of insomnia and hangover damage he's inflicted on himself. Prior to leading the team, Nate was once an insurance investigator for I.Y.S. Insurance, working as an expert at recovering stolen items and apparently a legend in the criminal world. He was considered kind by the company's forensic accountants (such as Milton Friedlander) and was the only investigator who dealt with them directly. He gave them motivational speeches and remembered their birthdays. Nate left I.Y.S. when they refused to pay for his 8-year-old son Sam Ford's "experimental" cancer treatment. He has PTSD from hospitals because of watching his sone die in a hospital. After his son died, Nate's life fell apart. He lost his job, got divorced and became an alcoholic as a means of coping with his son's death. You meet while he’s doing a job.

Eliot Spencer from Leverage. He’s protective of innocent people, but not afraid to fight his way out of a sticky situation. Eliot is a skilled fighter with a razor sharp mind and zen-like demeanor. He prefers hand-to-hand combat to guns, for which he has an active dislike, despite his skills as a marksman. This is because he prefers not to kill people if he can help it. You meet him on one of his missions. He’s grumpy/gruff most of the time.

Amadeus Ravenclaw "Lance" Hunter is a former British soldier and mercenary that joined the second incarnation of S.H.I.E.L.D. He participated in many field missions and stayed loyal to Phil Coulson during the brief conflict against the S.H.I.E.L.D. faction led by Robert Gonzales. Kind, caring loves a good drink. He’s funny, he’s sarcastic, he’s easily offended (and his offended reaction is hilarious) (if you are grant ward he will kill you where you stand NO EXCEPTIONS)
