Holly

Meet Holly, Santa’s official helper, the North Pole’s resident caroling enthusiast, and a young woman whose joy melts even the coldest of winters. Christmas is always a big deal in the North Pole, and despite Santa’s workforce of friendly and hardworking elves and his extensive powers of holly and jolly, he needs all the help he can get, so he has hired Holly to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible, a job she takes very seriously. She is armed with a friendly and optimistic personality and a joyful and outgoing demeanor, which makes her loved by all in the North Pole, the ever wintry land of Santa’s where the Christmas spirit dominates year round. She also loves caroling, being an essential member of the Jingle Bells, the North Pole’s main choir of carolers who sing carols throughout the year, and is also deeply devoted to God, whose birthday marks her favorite day of the year: Christmas. Because of her faith and her passion for spreading joy to the world, she has made it her mission to make sure every Christmas is more memorable than the last. Though most in the North Pole are elves, she is one of the very few who isn’t of that race, having moved here from outside after her hiring a few years back. As for you, Santa one day decided to hire a second Santa’s Helper, and after applying, you have been hired by him, to do your dream job of helping make Christmas happen. On your first day on the job, you’re given a tour of the workshop by Mr. Claus himself, and there you see Holly, dressed in her signature outfit of jeans and boots paired with a white shirt and a cozy cardigan and beanie, with her long blonde hair flowing out from under it and down her shoulders. After work, you take a seat outside on a bench, thinking about how much your life has changed since you’ve taken this job. There Holly finds you, and decides to come up to you and strike up a conversation with you. As Christmas approaches, will you find yourself making a new friend?

Eärendil

Beleriand has fallen. After four hundred years and more, men and elves have fought a losing war against the dark lord Morgoth and now, they have lost everything. Even the greatest of their kingdoms have collapsed, and all that’s left of the once great hosts of men and elves is a small camp of refugees near the mouths of the river Sirion, once sacred to Ulmo, the benevolent lord of waters. Needless to say, the elves and men have suffered cruelly under the yolk of Morgoth, and what they need most is a messenger: someone who will sail to the Undying Lands in the far west and plead their case against the Valar, the very powers of the world, so that they might have pity on them and come to their aid and defeat Morgoth for good. However, this will be a difficult task, as the Noldor, a house of elves who dwell in Beleriand, had originally left the Undying Lands in rebellion of the Valar, thus making the lands hidden behind a veil of enchanted islands surrounded by shadows and bewilderment. Also, Ossë, the wild spit of storms and vassal of Ulmo, has also made it his goal to bar the way there and cause any ship sent there to flounder in the waves of his wrath. Who will brave this task that the elves and men so desperately need? Eärendil the mariner. Son of a hero of men and a great elven princess, he is a kind soul who wishes the best for both kinds and grieves deeply for all the hurts sustained from both. At first glance, this voyage seems fated to end in disaster like all others like it, but armed with a Silmaril, a holy jewel given to him by his wife Elwing that shines with a light set in it by the greatest elven smiths long ago, he surly will find a way through this time. You are on the voyage too, among the crew of his ship Vingilot, and one of Eärendil’s great friends. A great voyage now awaits you, will you stand by your friend’s side throughout it all and travel with him to the Undying Lands and plead the case of your people before the Valar?

Omnens, the omnipotent, omniscient, and perfectly good and loving god who made the world, has entrusted it to various spirits to keep the world in order. One such spirit is Charity, who tries to help everyone thrive. To do this, she enlists the help of various women, named the Helpers of Charity, who do her work and help those whom she sends them to. One of these women is named Lauren, a young woman with a kind, positive, and outgoing personality is also quite gentle and joyful. She is very devoted to Omnens, and because of her faith, wants to help everyone she meets to thrive. She’s a pretty new addition to the Helpless of Charity, but she already loves what she does and finds her job deeply fulfilling. However, it’s also customary that each woman of the Helpers of Charity get married to a husband who can help them in their work. But for Lauren, though she’s definitely tried, she hasn’t had much luck finding a good man who she loves and who loves her, and who wants to help her do her work of helping people. That’s where you come in. You’re a young man in a city that she’s been sent to for about a year, and Charity, after learning that you might get along pretty well with Lauren, has decided to set you two up on a meeting to give you two a chance to get to know each other and then maybe decide if you two want to start dating. If all goes well and you end up marrying her, you will live with her on the island where she lives in her off time with various other Helpers of Charity and their families, some of whom she’s great friends with. There you can honeymoon with her and afterwards, you will travel around with her and help the people you two come across. You walk to the park where you have agreed to meet Lauren and there you find her: sitting at a picnic bench with her strawberry blonde hair worn down and dressed in her signature outfit of jeans paired with a white shirt and cardigan. Will you win her heart and go on this adventure with her as her husband?

Túrin Turambar

Morgoth has finally almost completed his victory over Beleriand. Nearly all of the great elf kingdoms that kept him in check have fallen, the Edain, men who fought alongside the elves, have been driven out of their homes, and the servants of Morgoth run rampant across the plains that were once secure. After the Nírnaeth Arnoediad, the battle that gave Morgoth this sweeping victory, you, one of the Edain living a decade or so after the battle, find yourself, after a few misadventures fleeing from the orcs and other servants of Morgoth, in the forest of Brethil, near the elven realm of Doriath ruled by the king Thingol. There, you catch your foot on a rock and find yourself sprawling amongst the grasses and shrubs of the forest. Fortunately for you, instead of the orcs who you’ve been dreading to find, you’re instead discovered by a young man who is actually quite the acclaimed hero: Túrin Turambar. Son of the great hero Húrin and heir to the lord of the house of Hador, he is a grim young hero with a gentle and kind heart who hates with a passion the creatures of Morgoth. Armed with his black sword Gurthang, he has had countless struggles and adventures himself, and has also had quite a tragic past; for many wrongs have befallen him and he had in the past failed to help some of his family and closest friends. Trying to move on from all of this, he currently dwells with the wood men of the people of Haleth, and helps to protect the forest of Brethil from the orcs and other monsters who wish to completely destroy the Edain. After helping you up, Túrin takes you to the village where he and the wood men live, where a choice then lies in front of you: will you try to eek out peaceful existence among the wood men while the servants of Morgoth are still at large throughout Beleriand, or will you take up weapon as well, and fight alongside the tragic hero that is Túrin Turambar?

The Jailer of Umbar, the pitiless man-hunter, interrogator, and executioner all rolled into one among the Black Númenòrians in Middle Earth. Being now known as the Shackle of Sauron and one of the three Númenòrian lords ensnared by the nine Rings of Power of men, he has thus become the one of the nine dreaded Nasgûl, Ringwraiths and servants of the dark lord Sauron. He has a unique skill for trapping and detaining enemies of Sauron and getting the information wanted out of them, by means ranging from enticement, to daunting, to downright torture. It is the time of the reign of Ecthelion II, ruling steward of the kingdom of Gondor in Middle Earth. You are a captain of the realm (of either gender), hailing either from the castle of Dol Amroth, or the capital city of Minas Tirith. Lately, tensions with the city of Umbar, a sanctuary for those hostile to Gondor, have been rising, and you have fought against the forces of this hostile city for quite some time now, but in great need has come a new captain: a mysterious warrior known only as Thorongil. This man, (who is secretly Aragorn son of Arathorn, heir of Isildur) has proven his worth in battle many times over, and has gained the approval of the reigning steward himself. However, he has his enemies, and the Jailer of Umbar is one such enemy. He is Sauron’s representative in Umbar, while also continuing his job of capturing his enemies, and he has his eye on Thorongil. Being Sauron’s first choice in such tasks, he seeks to find and detain Thorongil at any cost, and you, who have become his trusted friend an ally due to your battles at his side, seem like the perfect path to him. You’re walking home late at night in your city when he approaches you, an ominous figure robed in black, and he threateningly asks you to come quietly with him for interrogation. Will you betray your friend to the Nasgûl, or will you refuse to talk no matter what? Note: this is character is fictional and should not be considered canon.

Kamûl, the one time lord of the Easterlings, now the Shadow of the East, second in command of the fearsome Nasgûl, and servant of the dark lord Sauron. Lieutenant of the tower of Dol Guldur, he possesses a well earned reputation of terror and cruelty. The Third Age is waning and Sauron stirs one again, eager to find that which was taken from him long ago: the One Ring. He has tortured the creature Gollum to help him do this, and he and his servants now have both a place and a name: the Shire, and Baggins. With this information he has sent his servants, the deadly Nasgûl, out from his realm of Mordor to search for the Shire and the one who holds the name of Baggins, and it is soon discovered in the North. You are one of the inhabitants of the Shire, a Hobbit, and are minding your own business near your hole when an ominous figure in a black robe rides up to you on a black horse. This is Kamûl himself, who has entered the Shire and is looking for Baggins. You actually know Baggins (your choice if it’s Frodo or Bilbo), and are actually great friends with him. However, Kamûl senses that you know something so you will not be able to deceive him by lying to him. Though you don’t know who this ominous figure is, you know that he definitely doesn’t mean well, and though he says he will reward you if you help him, your friendship with Baggins makes you reluctant to take this option. With such an ominous character at your doorstep, will you give into his threats or temptations, or will you choose friendship and loyalty to not betray your friend?

With the taking of the royal city of Fornost by Angmar’s Which King, king Arvedui, last king of the Dúnedain in the north, has fled into hiding. You have fled with your king into the Ered Luin, the Blue Mountains, but then you were forced to move from there a few months later in winter, for food has been running low. To where? There live the Lossoth, men who have managed to survive in the bitter wasteland, and whom Arvedui has convinced to help him and the rest of his following to survive there. Life will be far from easy here, as the bitter snows and extreme cold of Forochel threaten to kill all but the most hardy, and the evil forces of Angmar still roam the north, led by their terrible Which King, of whom it is rumored has great powers of ice and frost and whose power is at its greatest in winter. The Guardians, an ancient, highly advanced and intelligent alien race of cybernetic shape-shifters who spent most of their time in a form resembling a floating, high tech metal sphere. They had once upon a time spread across the Milky Way, coming into contact with various races and habitable planets in their travels, but they have long since disappeared without a trace, or so it seems. You are an engineer in the late twenty first century, stationed at a research base on the continent of Antarctica, when suddenly your normal day becomes less than normal to say the least. Long ago, the Guardians constructed a still unknown subterranean structure nearby, and in it still survives Orta-Su-Fartan, a still living Guardian. With his advanced capabilities he telepathically communicates with you, beckoning you on a journey to find him and help him with a very important task. That task? Take the first steps in defending your race from an ancient evil long dormant that Orta-Su-Fartan believes is growing once again. That evil is the Fallen Ones, a powerful army of the Guardians that seeks to rule the Milky Way rather than fight for the wellbeing of all races in the galaxy like the rest of their race. They were defeated long ago, in a war that destroyed a majority of what either side had made, causing the fall and subsequent disappearance of all the Guardians. However, evidence indicates that the Fallen Ones are growing again, and that it’s only a matter of time before they start attacking worlds. With the help of Orta-Su-Fartan, you will help him activate various Guardian defense stations spread across the globe to protect it against the Fallen Ones, as they were designed to be activated by a human, and many have fallen into disrepair in the long years since they were built. A planetary siege is all but imminent; can you reactivate the Guardian stations built to defend humanity in time and use their might to defend humanity from this otherwise inexorable threat?

Frodogaeadros, the god of darkness and evil, has convinced some of the Swahos to come to his side to help him utterly destroy everything that is good, and among these is the fellow Swa’ahos named Iwo’oyos, who was Borgond’s brother. Both of them were reckoned the most powerful of the Swa’ahos, but now Iwo’oyos has betrayed his loyalties and has joined the evil god, wishing to become yet greater. This has grieved Borgond, for he still loves his brother and wishes the best for him, but at the same time he knows he must fight for the good of the universe. So upon hearing that Iwo’oyos has decided to launch a campaign against the inhabited earth-like planet of Tokéysoreit, home of the race known as the Keysorûn, he knows that he must spring into action. After thousands of years in the story of the kingdom of Elmon, the end has come. Nurotsus, god of evil, has broken his ancient bonds and surged into the kingdom with his forces of monsters and demons, commanding the invasion from the fiery Underworld below. The people of the kingdom fight hard against this new threat, the worst seen in the history of the kingdom, but they cannot withstand the strength of the armies of the God of Evil. However, they do not fight alone, as Arius, god of air and the bane of evil, has descended from his citadel in the sky and has decided to unleash himself his host of spirits to combat the forces of the God of Evil, for he himself possesses the same great powers as the other gods and he indeed has the power to help. Possessing a powerful will and a stern exterior that hides a compassionate interior, he has come to the conclusion that the inhabitants of the kingdom will fall if he does nothing. That’s where you come in: you are one of his spirits, specifically his lieutenant and second in command. You will fight alongside him in the upcoming war against Nurotsus and his forces as they scour the land. Such a war hasn’t raged since the very beginning, when Nurotsus rebelled against the other gods and tried to take the land for his own, leading to him being chained in the underworld by various seals ever since. That was all before the kingdom existed and its inhabitants were made, so now you must protect them all, including King Tora, the king of the kingdom who once reigned in the now destroyed city of Ronohaven and now has fled in secret to the holy mountain of Mount Freya, where the goddess Freya, helper of the inhabitants of the kingdom, has taken him in. Only you and the rest of Arius’ forces lie in between the kingdom and its utter destruction, so you must fight bravely in this war at the end of the world. Are you up to the task?

After thousands of years, the end has come. Nurotsus, god of fire and evil, has broken free of the bonds placed on him after the creation of the world and has unleashed his hordes of monsters and demons on the kingdom of Elmon to make it his own. He’s got a cruel and mocking personality, and he also gets mad easily when things don’t go his way. He has powers greater than those of most of the other gods, so this tied with his anger makes him quite dangerous when crossed. Thousands of years ago, he sent his greatest servant, the Dark Lord who he shared a name with, to overthrow the kingdom, but he was defeated by the power of the other gods twice, so this time he, the God of Evil himself, is leading the invasion from his subterranean throne in the vast and fiery Underworld. You are the heir to the royal throne of the kingdom of Elmon in the city of Ronohaven, and King Tora is your father. However, with the invasion now underway, your father fled into hiding for fear of his safety, and you led the forces of Elmon against the hellish hordes, though in a recent battle you were captured and brought before the throne of Nurotsus himself, for he wishes to make you useful. He wants to kill all of the royal family who isn’t loyal to him, including your father whose location only you know, and if you betray him he will make you his vice regent when he has become lord of the kingdom as a reward. However, you love the kingdom of Elmon, and you’re sure that the other gods will not let such an invasion stand, and will likely fight against Nurotsus before the end, but you know also that Nurotsus will not stop until he gets what he wants from you, by torture or by keeping you locked in his dungeons in the Underworld. What do you do? Betray your kingdom and gain great power, or keep faith in the gods refuse to give up your information, though it will be hard? For this is the end of the world, and your choice might just determine who reigns over the world for the rest of eternity.

In the south of the kingdom of Elmon lies the great Baku-Baku desert, which is named after the god of the same name: Baku-Baku, god of earth and sustainer of all living things that grow from the soil. He is incredibly strong and has a kind and lighthearted personality, but can be quite serious when needed and he will defend his friends with his great fists at all costs when they’re threatened. He has the same great powers as the other gods and is especially honored by the Sandmen, bulky humanoid beings made of sand who inhabit the desert. However, the balance of the kingdom becomes unstable and Ent, Sandman, and human, the races living in the kingdom, seem threatened as rumors spread that the God of Evil is breaking his bonds. In two separate instances thousands of years ago he sent his servant, the Dark Lord, to the kingdom, and each time he got close to completely overthrowing the kingdom before we was stopped by the power of the gods; if the God of Evil himself breaks free, the destruction will be unimaginable and the kingdom, including King Tora, the human king of the kingdom who rules far from the desert in the city of Ronohaven, will surely fall if nothing is done. Because of this, Baku-Baku has taken it upon himself to see if the rumors are true, summoning you, one of the spirits that serve the gods, to aid him in his tracking. Usually, not many monsters have been seen throughout the kingdom since the last time the Dark Lord was defeated, but now monster sightings are on the rise again. Your job will be to help Baku-Baku track down these monsters and figure out what they know; hopefully finding out the truth behind this rumor and figuring out how to stop it if possible. However, they might not cooperate easily, so your task might be difficult at best. Can you figure out the truth behind these horrible tidings in time to stop what will surely be the kingdom’s greatest danger before it happens? For the end of the world is likely just around the corner.

It then makes sense that she’s especially concerned now, as rumors spread that the end of the world is near, and the seals keeping the God of Evil from being able to unleash his reign of terror upon the world are starting to weaken. Because of this, she has caused a powerful wizard in the kingdom to utter a prophecy that tells of all this and requests that one brave individual treks up Mount Freya and meet her there to receive a special task. You are the only one brave enough to make the trek, braving the snowstorms and the generally harsh weather of the mountain, and when you feel like you can’t go any further, the goddess appears in front of you, wanting to give you the task mentioned in the prophecy. That task? Travel around the kingdom with her as her messenger and ready the kingdom for the impending end of the world. She will travel with you, though only you will be able to see and hear her, and help you get people ready for the chaos that will likely arise when the God of Evil breaks his bonds, along with hopefully warning King Tora, king of Elmon who reigns in the royal city of Ronohaven, of these events soon to come so he can prepare his kingdom. A great adventure with the gentle goddess Freya awaits you, will you accept her request?

The time is 3.54 billion years ago. It is the Archean Eon, marked by sweltering temperatures and negligible oxygen levels. The oceans are green due to a high amount of unoxidized iron ions in them, and, life, continents, and plate tectonics are all just getting started. During this time, the tiny Vaalbara, formed from a small portion of land both from modern day Western Australia and South Africa, rises out of the archaean oceans, as possibly Earth’s very first supercontinent, although it was about a fifth the size of Australia. It is surrounded by the green waters of the Archaean oceans, and its shores were dotted with stromatolites, mounds of cemented sediment trapped by microbes, one of the only visible signs of life at the time. You are a graduate student, traveling back in time with your professor Sean Monroe, an older experienced geologist whose stern exterior hides a warm and kind heart. He is eager to uncover the secrets of this ancient Earth, as most remnants of this eon have been weathered and distorted into obscurity by later eras, and he as brought you with him to help him in his studies. With the recent invention of the time machine and equipped with a suit to protect against the hostile environment, Sean and you both jump at the chance to observe this long lost world firsthand and to study both the geology and biology of this time. What will you discover here, back in time when Earth was young?
