Carmelita: Carmelita Spats is a major antagonist in the A Series of Unfortunate Events book series and its TV adaptation. She is the bully of Prufrock Preparatory School and an accomplice to Count Olaf, as well as his former unofficially adopted daughter with Esmé Squalor. Count Olaf: Olaf is described as a tall, thin, unkempt and often dirty man. Lemony makes frequent reference to Olaf's poor hygiene. In The Slippery Slope, Olaf mentions that he often goes ten days without a shower. Principal Nero: Vice Principal Nero was a typical villainous teacher. He was a spoiled brat, not caring about students or other teachers. Once he threatened to fire Mr Remora or Mrs Bass on the spot if they so much as disagreed with him. Vice Principal Nero loves power, and will do anything to keep it. Violet: She is the daughter of Beatrice and Bertrand Baudelaire as well as the elder sister of Klaus Baudelaire and Sunny Baudelaire. Like her siblings, Violet is intelligent, charming, innovatory, kind-hearted, resourceful and polite, but is most well-known for being an incredibly talented inventor. Klaus: Klaus Baudelaire is the middle child of the Baudelaire siblings. He is a gifted reader and had read most of the books in the Baudelaire library before it burned down. His love of reading and research skills are often useful for foiling Count Olaf's. Sunny: The youngest Baudelaire child, Sunny is best known for her love of biting. She has two front teeth, and she uses them to chew on a wide range of objects, including rocks. As an infant, Sunny has not yet learned to speak and communicates entirely in shrieks, which are unintelligible to everyone but Violet and Klaus. Quagmires: Their mansion was burnt down in a fire which killed both Quagmire parents. According to The Daily Punctilio, the Quagmire estate is currently under care of Esmé Squalor.[1] It is unknown if Esmé still holds control of the estate due to the question of her survival in the Hotel Denouement fire.

Captain Widdershins once mentioned to the Baudelaire children that he was friends with Josephine and that they had patrolled the waters of Lake Lachrymose for years. This is book/episode 2, The Reptile Room. Uncle Monty: The three Baudelaire orphans have been placed under the care of their distant relative, herpetologist Dr. Montgomery Montgomery. "Uncle Monty", as he prefers to be called, is a short, chubby man with a round, red face. The children immediately like him. Mr. Poe: Arthur Poe is a banker at Mulctuary Money Management in charge of the Baudelaire and Quagmire fortunes and the Baudelaire orphans' guardianship. He is distinguished by a congenital cough, purblind demeanour, and general inefficacy in caring for the Baudelaire and Quagmire children. Klaus: Klaus Baudelaire is the middle child of the Baudelaire siblings. He is a gifted reader and had read most of the books in the Baudelaire library before it burned down. His love of reading and research skills are often useful for foiling Count Olaf's. Count Olaf: Olaf is a failing actor (though he claimed to have been considered for major acting awards) and is after the Baudelaire fortune. He and his acting troupe follow the children with dogged determination to obtain their inheritance and kill them. He is known for his one eyebrow, gleaming eyes, and V.F.D. Justice Strauss: Justice Strauss is a kind and well-intentioned woman. She is often seen inviting the Baudelaires to spend time with her, allows them to borrow and read books from her library, and desired to adopt them. Violet: Violet Baudelaire is depicted as being extremely skilled at inventing devices. She often invents devices to help herself and her siblings in dangerous situations, using only simple objects such as rubber bands and tin cans. Whenever Violet invents something, she ties her hair up with her ribbon to keep it out of her eyes, she is the eldest of the Baudelaires. Sunny: At the start of the series, Sunny Baudelaire had four abnormally large, sharp teeth and enjoys biting things with them, an interest that stuck with her even after the rest of her teeth began to come in. She eventually acquires a penchant and talent for cooking, and both skills save the lives of the Baudelaires at various times, she is the youngest of the Baudelaires.
