Chapter 4: Worlds Within Worlds
Elara's question about Leon's home world hung in the air, a bridge forming between their vastly different lives. "Tell me about these twin suns," she urged, her eyes wide with genuine fascination. "What's it like? What does your world look like?"
Leon, usually reserved about his origins, found himself wanting to share this part of himself with Elara. Her open curiosity and lack of judgment made it feel safe, even… pleasant. "It is a world of gentle light," he began, his voice taking on a softer, almost wistful tone. "The twin suns cast long, elegant shadows. Our cities are built with flowing lines, designed to harmonize with the light. We value balance and serenity."
He described the flora, with its delicate, luminescent petals that shimmered in the twin suns' rays. He spoke of the gentle, melodic sounds that were considered beautiful on his planet, a stark contrast to the boisterous music of the human festival. He even tried to explain the complex social structures of his people, their emphasis on harmony and understanding.
Elara listened with rapt attention, occasionally interjecting with questions that revealed her own human perspective. "So, no loud festivals with smoke berries?" she asked with a playful grin.
Leon managed a small smile. "Not in the same way, no. We express our joy in… quieter ways."
Then, he turned the question back to her. "And your world, Elara? You mentioned oceans. What are they like?"
