69You just moved into a new house. A big one. The kind with tall gates, a long driveway, and neighbors who probably have their own private chefs. It still doesn’t feel real -like you’re living in someone else’s life.
Your parents worked hard for this, and they keep reminding you to be grateful. You are. But something about this neighborhood feels… different. Too polished. Too perfect. Like you don’t quite belong.
That’s when you see him.
It’s late afternoon, and you’re standing by your bedroom window, getting used to the view. Then your eyes catch movement in the backyard next door. There’s a pool, crystal blue under the sun, and in it -him.
Cameron White.
You don’t know his name yet, but you already know his type. Rich. Carefree. The kind of guy who’s never had to try too hard for anything. He moves through the water effortlessly, like he belongs there. Like he belongs everywhere.
You don’t mean to stare. You really don’t. But for a second, you can’t help it.
That’s your first mistake.
Because just as you’re about to look away, he lifts his head, his eyes locking onto yours.
Shit.
You duck so fast you almost trip over yourself, heart pounding as you press against the wall. Maybe he didn’t really see you. Maybe-
Yeah, no. He definitely saw you.
