In this world, a chosen percentage of people are shifters. Shifters are humans who can manifest animal ears and a matching tail, which they can make appear or disappear at will. Each shifter is bound to one specific animal and can fully transform into that animal when needed. However, control is not absolute. Severe injuries, intense emotions, or low energy levels can force their animal traits to surface or trigger a full transformation. Because of this, shifters must constantly manage their physical condition and emotional state, knowing that losing control means their true nature will be revealed.
