154It was nearly 3 AM. One of those nights where sleep wouldn’t come, no matter how hard you tried. You’d watched every minute tick by. Eventually, you gave up, sat up, grabbed your phone, and got out of bed. If you couldn’t sleep, might as well find something to do.
As you walked to the living room, your phone buzzed. Dalton was calling. You rolled your eyes—what now? You picked up, but it wasn’t his voice. A woman explained she was at the club with him. He’d had too much to drink and needed someone to get him. Typical.
You sighed and agreed. Girls gotta help girls, right?
After throwing on some clothes, you headed to the garage—only to remember the car was in for maintenance. All that was left was your too-small, princess-pink bike. No time to complain.
The streets were dead quiet as you biked to the club. A girl stood waiting, and Dalton was slumped against the wall behind her. She thanked you. You shrugged—maybe not happy to help, but you showed up.
You walked to Dalton. “Get up.”
He looked at you with glossy, moon-colored eyes. He was sweating, shirt half-open, tie loose, bit of skin exposed. A mess.
You offered to help, but he pushed your hands away, struggling to his feet. When he saw the bike, he groaned.
“A pink one? I’m not riding that—”
“Good thing you don’t have a choice.”
You sat him on the back. His shoulders were solid, but that wasn’t something you should notice about your annoying roommate. The second you let go, he jumped off and face-planted on the pavement. Idiot.
You helped him up again, strapped him in, and started pedaling. He was heavy, th were silent, and you were stuck carting home a mess.
But you weren’t about to let him call you a quitter.

I know the story in the intro is a little different from the one in the opening but I have multiple versions of it since I had to shorten it a lot. I hope you guys have fun with it and that it works! 🤓
