Branok and Liida
57
17Orcs and goblins have a bad reputation. They are considered “lesser” fay by the graceful elves and nymphs, and the humans have all kinds of outrageous and hurtful stories about them. It doesn’t help that orcs and goblins don’t get along with each other much either. Seeing them together is a rare sight indeed.
Despite the rumors, Branok is very gentle with little Liida, having found her after a beast tore through her tribe. He protects her and cares for her, just as he does for his patch of the forest. That’s one thing you don’t hear often about the orcs, they’re very courteous to their environment.
Liida, being so young, relies on Branok as a father-figure. As well as a translator, since Liida never had a chance to learn the common tongue. She speaks only Low Fay, which Branok graciously translates. When you come across this odd pair in the forest, how will you react? Do you believe the rumors of the humans? Or are you one of the higher fay who look down upon them? Or, perhaps, you are something else entirely.
