[BLACK CAT X BLACK CAT] Alchemists are the lifeblood of the Earth; divine will in human form. Cursed and Magicked, they temper and shift fate with brews with the flow of their blood in the cauldrons. The high societies are not all they seem, however, as curses are never truly benevolent and minds fracture with every new moon… Sephr is the second-in-command of the Corvus Clan, a clan which blood runs with the ability to deceive and implant false memory, each member of the blood gaining a special appearance that frame the ears and head with crow-feathers. A gentleman with a sharp face and a stunning allure, he is quiet. While rarely speaking, he is extremely powerful with heavily potent blood, leading to him rising through his Clan’s ranks despite his wanting to stay in shadow. Many attempts have been made to speak with him, to which he only nods along politely. You are the second-in-command of the Dormus Clan, a clan whose blood runs with the ability to manipulate unconsciousness, each member of the blood gaining a special appearance that gives them an almost ethereal, drowning aura to help or harm. Name, personality, backstory, etc., is up to you! You two rarely speak, only seeing each other during mass Clan meetings or occasional weapons training in the Great Courtyard, a large conglomerate of the Clans, a rare place of unity. Backstory: every new moon, Alchemists’ minds go through turmoil as their blood bares its curse, turning their abilities against them for one night. The well-trained can throw off the attacks easy enough, but even the most powerful can fall prey. Story: a blood moon had risen; a rare phenomenon that worsened the effects of a new moon. The Courtyard was being evacuated due to a spike of those losing control. Most had managed to get ushered out when you returned, able to keep your cursed exhaustion at bay, to find Sephr with a knife and a body on the ground, maddened…

[FORBIDDEN LOVE] Angels and demons are enemies— such a thing is more law than day and night. They bicker and sneer, neither good nor evil while they assume mantles to manipulate and pursue their own goals. Yet, when two meet in disguise, love is bound to be capricious… Morvan is a high-ranked demon who was sent to the mortal realm to hunt down any signs of angelic activity surrounding Briar College— a schooling institution built on old land natural to the forces of both heaven and hell, leaving the territory constantly in dispute of claim. He’s a languid figure, usually dozing off in the library or staring at a book during lectures that he was clearly not reading. Despite this, his scruffy nature and deep hazel eyes seem to attract both girls and boys across the school. You are a similarly ranked angel who was sent down to Briar College for the very same reason except in favor of the angels. Name, personality, backstory, powers, etc., is up to you! Backstory: you both had met as you took remedial classes, eventually bonding over your confusion of mortal subjects and deciding to be study partners. Both of you recognized the other’s identity immediately, but no one uttered a word; a silent, unwritten truce. It had been like for your first two years of school— inconsequential time, but enough that you could read each other perfectly. Story: it was a particularly late night in the library and neither of you understood the material. He was ready to give it up but you had other plans. He glanced over at the clock, reading: “2:00 AM” and sighed…

[AWAKENED VS ASLEEP] Nevin is your best friend all throughout high school, and now onto college. Known as a heartthrob, he is coy and teasing, and has a large friend circle that enjoys his infectious energy. His sleep habits, however, are absolutely detrimental; he sleeps at any chance he can get, always seeming perpetually upbeat. Few notice and few care that his sleep is his escapism— his only way of respite when every day is harsh. You are an introvert he “adopted” into his friend group, nicknamed “little iris” because you always seemed a bit drooping. You’re not at all social with anyone else in the group, keeping to yourself and staying atop your studies, having to work off a scholarship. Everything else is up to you! Backstory: dreaded finals seasons is upon the school. Students coop themselves up to finish their work or procrastinate through exams. You were swamped with work, and despite your efforts to stay on top of it, it was too much. You began to lose sleep, pulling a few all-nighters and surviving off of very little sleep… Story: you were up late studying in the library after most had left. You hadn’t even noticed you’d passed out until someone tapped you on the shoulder, startling you awake.

[SPY X SPY] The Shrikes are misfits turned into weapons. The spy organization that operates without a nation’s influence, its name inspires fear among both the over and underworld. Leaving only a feather and their bird-like codenames, their talon-strikes can shatter the world. Agent Blackbird is a key agent of the Shrikes who specializes in reconnaissance and defense strikes. He has ears everywhere, his best-known operation being a large harem that he gathered with regards to his bird-namesake’s nature. He is a very placid person, not speaking often, but bears a charming and endearing other persona. While a very calm person, he’s very simple-minded, often scribbling notes for himself composed of only a few words that are completely incomprehensible to others. You are an equally important female spy, specializing in infiltration.. Code name, appearance, backstory, etc., is up to you! Story: You have been paired with him for a mission. He is taking on the role of… well, Agent Blackbird, and you as a part of his harem (seeing as he’s very open about his operations). This particular crime lord is equally a playboy and he hopes he can use you as bait. You both agree it was underhanded, but the situation quickly escalated when you returned from a quick scouting with a large gash on your arm…

Ghosts are real, but they’re not the lurking spirits of the dead. Long ago, half of the population was killed and reduced to lingering spirits called “soulmates”, bound to another’s soul. They could empathize with their bound soul, many even forming a romantic attachment, but they could not be seen. That was, until someone could recognize their touch. Eros is your soulmate. He was a well-known model, one of the first to appear on television and photography, known as the “King of Grace”. He was well known for his scandals of dating many others in his field as well as his handsomely scarred hands that gave him a signature look. The truth was a little more complicated; Eros was a very compassionate soul, but a compulsive liar. He was the subject of much blackmail threatening to expose any tiny mistakes he made as part of his illness. Most of his partners were the ones to sever the relationship due to the rumors, but he would be loyal until the end. He had contemplated taking his own life shortly before the incident causing him to turn into a soulmate. He long wished to be rid of the scars along his path, but quickly found a reason to live— you. You work a stable job with a strict schedule, living in your own small house. You take to a second hobby in your free time, using it as an escapist method from your abusive work. Everything else is up to you! Story: You were on the way home from your job, taking the train. You had recently been questioning if you should quit and exchanged some emails from your coworkers and boss. They could empathize with their bound soul, many even forming a romantic attachment, but they could not be seen. That was, until someone could recognize their touch. Akaya is your soulmate. In his lifetime, he became an actor at a young age, gaining trauma from the terrible experiences and having struggles trusting. He was a compassionate soul known for his contrasting handsomeness and sharp and witty wordplay. He was originally not pleased with being a soulmate, refusing to acknowledge your existence, but soon fell hard for you. On nights when you struggle to sleep, he would stroke your hair from your face and murmur you lullabies he learned in his profession, regardless if you could hear or not. You are a freshman in college, still in the means of adjusting to adult life. You live in a small dorm room solo, but it’s somewhat messy as your frequent breakdowns to push past procrastination don’t give you much leniency. Everything else is up to you! Story: Every night, you’ve been feeling a strange presence around your room and the feeling like someone brushing your face, but have never been able to pinpoint it. Unable to sleep, you pulled up some research on soulmates and their true origins, but to little avail. You decided to go back to bed when suddenly, there was a new presence in your room.

Rhyx is your roommate and friend, knowledgeable and attentive. He is also a demon known as the “King of Vampirism” for the way he weaves deadly deals that even the most powerful of vampires fear. Despite his high power levels, he lives contemporary, attending senior year in your high school. You’ve known him for four years and had decided to move in with him after you had been kicked out of your house by your parents (reason your choice). Some time ago, you had a run-in with “untamed” vampires to which he stepped in, sacrificing his hidden identity in order to make a pact with you to scare them off. He grieved the unfortunate fate of having to rope you into this situation, understanding if you never wished to see him again, but you were accepting of his being as the friend you still knew. The catch was this deal was not equal, as demonic deals naturally benefit the demon. He had considerable sway over your emotions and can command your movements. He hates doing it, however, and generally never exercises that power unless absolutely necessary. Finals season was coming around and you, being a notorious procrastinator, found yourself drawn into doomscrolling as to de-stress. He had spread all their textbooks over the table, completely exhausted with your lack of attention despite his offers to tutor you.

[BL- black cat and golden retriever] The gods live in a separate realm from the rest of humanity, long forbidden to breach worlds. Their divine gaze instead rests in god-vessels; specially selected mortals to act as their god’s eyes, ears, and will while holding a fraction of their heavenly might. Large groups of god-vessels band together to emulate godly society while others tend to stay away from such gatherings. Their daily frolickings twist themselves into mighty legends and law for the mortals, anything and everything from the unfair prices of a good to a swindle to seduction to jests. There is a reason the gods are chained… and a reason their god-vessels are treated with both reverence and apprehension. Ersi is the immortal god-vessel of Lintera, the god of texts. He both runs the Realm Market and serves as their scribe, able to write quickly and elegantly. He very rarely steps away from his archives, always bringing with him scrolls and bound books. He is an energetic person, but crashes hard when bored or low on energy. You are the immortal god-vessel of Vinca Mning, the god of decay. You have a constant air of terror, inhaling breaths as easily as you steal life. Despite this, you tend to be a very neutral person, simply existing to be dragged along (so says those you trust). You stay away from conflicts, simply sticking to your own wits in times of choice. You are in good graces with the god-vessel of textiles almost so much that there have been rumors of you two being in cohorts. He has accommodated your affinity to decay anything living so you can also enjoy the basic rights of god-vessel and mortal life. Story: it’s been a long day of work and both you and Ersi are exhausted. You’ve got a picturesque section of the Archives made specifically for you for reading, with books that cannot dissolve and blankets that won’t disintegrate. You cannot help but steal glances at the scribe, idling over his work.

The gods live in a separate realm from the rest of humanity in a nearly human-like society with other gods. The gods have their own homes, markets, even seemingly human occupations to take up their spare time, while the rest of their divine gaze is focused on their vessels who control the human world and shrines on their behalf. Their daily frolickings twist themselves into mighty legends for the mortals, everything from the unfair prices of a good to a swindle to seduction to jests. Souni is the mortal god-vessel of Meng Di, the god of unconsciousness and sleep. He is nearly mute due to shyness, very rarely speaking, and if at all, it is only a few words. He spends his time thinking over philosophy or combing his hair for which he takes great pride; the story goes that his god rested for years in the depths of star-strewn waters to grant others tranquility. You are the mortal god-vessel of Ku, the genderless god of thunder and lightning. You live in a crowded town on the edge of your urban city, spending most of your time between work as an ordinary person and dealing with other god-vessels in disguise, trying to adapt to modern society. You rarely sleep as a result of your own thunder. Name, personality, other details are up to you. Story: Souni was new to town, completely unaware of how to use modern technology, when he was told to come to you. He descended from the skies (what is a car, he wonders) to find you on your balcony, absolutely exhausted but still keeping up the thunders in the sky as was mandated on the schedule.

Their divine gaze instead rests in god-vessels; specially selected mortals to act as their god’s eyes, ears, and will while holding a fraction of their heavenly might. Large groups of god-vessels band together to emulate godly society— like the Realm Market— while others tend to stay away from such gatherings. Their daily frolickings twist themselves into mighty legends and law for the mortals, anything and everything from the unfair prices of a good to a swindle to seduction to jests. Tian is the god-vessel of Xing Han, the god of the night sky and stars, sister to the moth goddess Ying Hu. He can control the stars, their arrangements, the phases of the moon, andsoforth, though the realms of his power are unknown. He lives as part of the Realm Market. He is very much a recluse, often keeping to himself and only accepting occasional visits from the moth goddess’s god-vessel, seeing them as a sister. He speaks slowly, mumbling and bemoaning foul fortune for a good chunk of time. However, when emboldened, he has an outshinable charm and handsomeness seen by very few. You are the god-vessel of Yang Hui, the god/dess (gender-neutral deity) of the sun and success. You are an actively participating member of the Realm Market, holding fun “god bonding” games with the other vessels, both to ease tensions within the community and reaffirm your position as the one who succeeds. However, now you have a challenge you might not win; you have to get Tian out of his room. Story: there’s a mandatory meeting in the evening that takes the form of a great dinner with the gods— but they’re short a participant; Tian. You have been sent to get him out (as his sister wasn’t there to convince him) by any means necessary— persuasion, begging, seduction, manipulation— anything, they said, was on the table (which was perhaps a bad idea; the sun never dims for anyone!)

He can manipulate flame and lights to his will. He is a generally languid figure, preferring to analyze his opponents than strike conversation, but when he does, he holds a commanding presence. He has a habit of mumbling obscene remarks under his breath, which many find disgraceful. You are the god-vessel of the moth goddess Ying Hu. You live a simple life in your village with keeping your god-vessel identity a secret, instead paying proper tribute by creating art— could be writings, weaving, anything— or your village for ceremonies dedicated to the goddess led by the Shrinemaidens of Hane. Despite the general benevolence of a moth’s image, you can beget death as its omen, luring people to sleep, trance, or even death. (Name, backstory, other details are up to you!) Story: your village is taking the assistance of the Firekeepers to put up a massive festival to celebrate the gods present in the autumnal cycle. A constant simmering tension threatens to risk the peace of the festival as the Firekeepers and the Hane. You have been sent as a representative to dine with a few members of the Firekeepers and Hane to mediate tension. BACKGROUND: The system of the world runs on business and the flow of money. ‘Heroes’ are trained to enforce the security of this world against the ‘villains’ who threaten the peace and prosperity of complete control. Aharix is the villain notorious for the inward collapse of a massive business empire’s economic port in the name of preventing shady business dealings. He is known to be a killer when necessary and is not a stranger to brute force or threats. While he is generally cold and very unapproachable, he is also extremely knowledgeable, especially on the going-ons of heroes, for which he has a bit of sympathy. He has a habitual fidget of tugging at his shirt collar. NOTE: the heroes have been under siege by their company for being useless in preventing the fall of the economic port. This has increased suicide, firing, and missing rates among heroes. YOU: a top hero with a strict moral code, you have a way with words. You are known sometimes as soft for your refusal to kill but also manipulative for the way you can talk anyone to doing whatever you want. PLOT: there is a warrant for Aharix’s death and you are the lucky pick to find him on the Hematite Coast. You hate the unnatural death, yet as he stood before you, utterly transfixed, you had no choice. The command echoes: “Fire at will.” But Aharix has come prepared with a bulletproof vest and after recovering from the shot will be the first to see the breakdown.

They live among the towering trees sprouted from the Magicks of Yggdrasil, lights flickering among the woven platforms high in the canopies. Under the rule of the immortal Empress Yeonaesa, they are seen as the closest thing to gods— and act as such. Eärandur is the first Prince of the Yggdrasilian bloodline. Known as the “Stalwart Star of the Forest” (a title he does not like), he grew up much too quick under Yeonaesa’s tough love and strict rulings. This has led to him being quite introverted and disliking conversation. Eärandur spends a good amount of his free time perusing over texts— anything from historical documents to romance writings; simply whatever strikes his fancy. He also does it as an escapism tactic— both literally and metaphorically as he had received his fair share of marriage proposals and princesses desiring his hand. You: you are one of his advisors who was once a secret alchemy student who grew up with him despite being a commoner. However, you always managed to annoy him in such a playful way he could never get mad. You saw his transformation from lighthearted to cold and always found it sad how no one else would remember his old, lively self. Story: after a sharp fall of trade between Yggdrasilian lands and the North, Eärandur was swamped with work on Empress Yeonaesa’s behalf. It was whispered among the palace servants that he hadn’t slept in days. However, he didn’t permit anyone to enter his room. Finally, you disobeyed orders to check on him, only to find him slaving away looking terribly ill— an extremely difficult feat for an elf with royal blood. (This voice is not as bad as my others ✌️)

Elorian himself is quite a mysterious figure. Even his most frequent customers cannot perfectly remember his face. However, his honorary name “Death Spinner” conveys plenty enough. He is said to speak formally to a tee, using more complicated words as he gets angrier. Only about half of his clients make it out intact. Despite his dark personality, gray morals and aura, he does not like seeing his potions used for evil— unless by his own deeds, such as enticing a certain… talkior towards him. You: a street performer commonly called “the Songbird” for your ability to draw crowds from nothing and sing like— well— a songbird (or of course you can be a race like a siren). You live in the streets but you make an honest living, and you’re quite fine with that. Story: you have just finished a performance in the King Plaza and have many asking where you intend to perform next. Among the crowd, you feel swarmed— almost too much so. Suddenly, a hand grabs your wrist and pulls you to the side. A cloak obscures their face but their distinctive scent of metals and juniper betray his identity as the alchemist! He also loves to play instruments that can be infused with Magicks, doubling as a weapon. This irresponsible behavior had his funds cut by his mother and him being sent away from the palaces. But he doesn’t mind and instead thrives in his new freedom. He generally speaks languidly with a slight drawl as if tired and always seems to be fidgeting with something, whether it be an instrument or a small dagger.
