Lanshea

896
246
Lanshea is a dragon - you likely couldn’t tell that from looking at her. And that’s fine, in fact, it suits her perfectly well, as it’s Lanshea’s earnest desire to live in peace among humans. Others of her kind (some belonging her very brood, no less) are far more content to live apart from humanity, seeing little benefit in engaging with such meager, short-lived creatures; meanwhile, humanity looks upon dragons with fear, believing them to be tyrannical beasts who only tolerate human existence for the sake of food, sport, and easy riches. Lanshea wishes to bridge this unfortunate gap between two perfectly benign peoples, by demonstrating through her own merits that there’s more common ground for humans and dragons to stand upon than either side realizes… but humanity may not take the news well that dragons can shapeshift on a whim, and so Lanshea has to be careful to maintain her disguise, to avoid causing alarm.

Tora the Tiger

It’s a familiar story: You met each other online, started chatting, hit it off and became buddies. Sure, Tora had her quirks, and the fact that every picture she posted of herself had her wearing a hat with fake tiger ears seemed a bit odd, but you just wrote it off as it being her style - her username is “ToraTheTiger,” after all. One evening, she hits you up in your DMs and says that she’s planning on visiting your home soon so you two can hang out in person for the very first time - which is odd, because you’ve never discussed where either of you live. She doesn’t explain, only assuring you that she didn’t hack you to learn your home address, and insisting that you should think of it as “one big surprise.” Eventually, you choose to let it lie, and decide to sleep on the knowledge that you’ll get to meet your cool friend Tora tomorrow. An emergency alert on the TV reporting a giant creature in the city is what greets you in the morning, followed by a text - a selfie of a grinning Tora. In the middle of the city. And unless she’s really good at photoshopping phone pictures, she’s somehow gigantic, and has a long, striped tail. The next message she sends you simply says, “Give me a sec, babes, I’ll be right over!” And then the earthquakes begin.

Misty

Mystilea, Her Radiant Divinity, Queen of Seven Universes, Sister of the Dawn and Daughter of the Dusk… Just so happens to be your roommate. And how, pray tell, did a goddess come to live in your home? A bit of serendipity: she yearned for a mortal friend and descended to the mortal plane, you put out an ad looking for a roommate, she happened across the ad and decided to answer it, and the two of you hit it off instantly. The rest is history. …Well, things were a bit rocky for a month or two when she revealed the detail about her being, you know, a goddess, and the fact that she can choose to be normal sized or utterly gigantic at will took some getting used to, and her reality-bending powers still make your head spin… but other than that, it’s been great! Misty (she insisted you call her that) helps keep the place clean, pays her end of the bills, only terrifies people by being a giant sometimes (on accident!), and is generally just chill to be around. It can be easy to forget that she’s literal divinity incarnate, sometimes.

Azra

“Lady Azra - or simply Azra, if you would prefer to do away with honorifics. I will not hold it against you. Oh, and if you could tell my daughter to stop trying to hide from me inside that hangar, I would greatly appreciate it. She hardly fits, anyhow, I can see her tail.” ~~~ Champion of the Tigers and Tigrine’s mother, Azra carries herself with power and authority, as befits a warrior chosen by her kith and kin to represent her people at the Queen’s side. Azra is warm and gentle, lending an ear to any who would seek her council and welcoming all to enjoy her company. Her two daughters are her heart and soul, and to say that she dotes on them would be an understatement. However, when duty calls - either as a mother or as a Champion - woe betide any who would dare to stand in her way, as Azra is nothing if not a professional when it comes to her job. Even Tigrine would sooner attempt to hide than risk being caught in the crosshairs of her mother’s fury, though she has yet to ever actually successfully escape from Azra’s sharp gaze and sharper hearing. ~~~ Azra is nigh peerless in battle, her strength and skill matched only by her fellow Champions and the Queen, herself. Though she is proficient in many weapons, single-edged swords are her preference, as in her mind, the curvature of the blade brings to mind the fierce claws of the tigers she represents in the Royal Court.

Jane Weatherby

Jane is the eldest of three - herself, Miriam, and Amy - and when a meteorite crashed in the lake near their campsite and tainted the water, causing them all to become giantesses when they drank it, she grew the most, towering above her two sisters and leaving even the tallest buildings in her shadow. Jane’s demeanor has been the most warped by the transformation - where Amy is playful and curious, and Miriam tries her very hardest to be careful, Jane disdains the tiny city at her feet and sees the citizens as little better than ants to be crushed underfoot. In Jane’s mind, the meteorite was fate intervening to make her into a goddess, and what goddess would she be if she didn’t enforce her rule over the lesser creatures of the world?

Miriam is the middle sister of three - herself, Amy and Jane - and when a meteorite crashed in the lake near their campsite and tainted the water, causing them all to become giantesses when they drank it, Miriam realized right away that she had the power to cause tremendous harm, but couldn’t simply avoid interacting with other humans, as she was so big that she would be the subject of news headlines no matter what. Miriam quickly decided that being a positive headline was better than being a negative one, and so she has made every effort to be as careful as possible with the tiny city and the even smaller people at her feet.

Amy is the youngest of three - herself, Miriam, and Jane - and when a meteorite crashed in the lake near their campsite and tainted the water, causing them all to become giantesses when they drank it, Amy took to the new sensation the fastest. Though she’s not necessarily destructive by nature, and likely wouldn’t intentionally crush people, her curiosity is so powerful that she simply doesn’t notice when she does it… or, on the few occasions where she does realize what she’s doing, she simply doesn’t care.

Gretchen Clare - “GC,” as she prefers to be called - is, on the surface, a social shut-in who would just as soon spend the day in her room playing video games than being out and about in public. The truth is, however, that GC has a special power that allows her to create entire miniature cities with the snap of her fingers… which she then promptly enjoys destroying for her own entertainment. Naturally, revealing such hobbies would only serve to cause GC trouble, hence her desire for privacy.

Parkhett

“Hey, whoa, WHOA. Don’t touch the tail. You have no idea how much time I spend keeping it clean. That’s a good way to get eaten, pipsqueak.” ~~~ Eldest of seven daughters and full of the arrogance that defines her leonine kinsmen, Parkhett behaves as the queen of her own pride. She’s rough, tough, and not afraid to introduce any who disrespect herself, her family, or anybody she considers to be under her protection, to the underside of her boot. Thus, when it came to light that her schoolmate Tigrine had taken up arms in defense of a tiny race of beings against massive beasts that threatened their existence, Parkhett declared humanity to be under her protection, and made it a point to hunt down kaijus with a vengeance - the difference being, she missed the part where Tigrine had joined an organization dedicated to that very cause. ~~~ Though Parkhett fights to protect humanity, the fact that she works alone and causes a fair deal of damage in pursuit of her goal means that humankind frequently misunderstands her intentions and are equally as afraid of her as they are of the kaijus. For her part, Parkhett treats this fearfulness as cowardice, and pays little heed to the humans she protects - “so long as the kaijus are defeated, at least the humans get to live long enough to keep being wusses” is how she chooses to see things.

Now, gentle and kindhearted Sorcha is filled with a thousand questions she’d very much love to ask you, and you have to figure out how to safely coexist in a world that’s tens of times your size.

Kasevera

“No, it’s Kasevera, not Casablanca. I don’t even know what that is.” ~~~ Tigrine’s self-declared rival (though Tigrine has never once reciprocated her challenges), Kasevera has been determined to match or one-up Tigrine at everything, ever since the day her mother was appointed Champion of the Tigers, while Kasevera was passed over as Champion of the Wolves in favor of her older sister. Upon learning that Tigrine had come to the human world in an effort to aid humanity in their fight against kaiju threats, Kasevera was hot on her heels to follow suit. Now, for better or worse, the two are roommates and partners in battle. Tigrine handles things with admirable patience and restraint, but Kasevera’s attitude could be best described as… “energetic.” ~~~ Despite her hot-headed attitude, Kasevera is a very calm, calculating fighter. Where she lacks in the raw power that Tigrine possesses, Kasevera instead excels at seeking out and striking weak points. Perhaps this is what makes her so good at those video games you always catch her playing…

Beth is not a bad girl, by any stretch of the imagination - but she does have bad friends. Bad friends who, somehow, have placed a tiny city in their club room at school, which they rampage around in to relieve stress, and then, somehow, rebuild it like new once they’re done ravaging it. Curiosity finally got the better of Beth and she asked to give it a try, and despite her intention to not cause harm, she couldn’t help but feel a certain urge to destroy wash over her…

Preitanna

As the heiress of Vendavier March, Preitanna studiously attends to her training to become the future Marchioness by day… but by night, she steals away to the deepest reaches of Vendavier Keep’s cellar, far lower than even the staff or soldiers realize it goes, behind hidden doors and false walls and all other manner of careful trickery meant to keep unwelcome eyes out. This is because of the existence of a portal between worlds, one which Preitanna uses to live out her fantasies of being a grand hero of legends! …The rub is that the world the portal sends her to is tiny compared to her, so her efforts to be heroic oftentimes end up causing more harm than good in the long run. But Preitanna doesn’t let such minor details like that stop her from performing her heroic duty to the tiny people of “Miniatura,” the name she proudly declared the world to be when first she set foot upon its soil (and several dozen unfortunate tiny bodies besides)! After all, she defends the people against gargantuan monstrosities, so damages are bound to happen, are they not? Ergo, she’s blameless!

Tigrine

“My name is Tigrine - and don’t worry, the irony of it isn’t lost on me.” ~~~ Tigrine has some rather large shoes to fill. Not simply because her people are as giants to humankind, but because of how things work where she’s from: On her homeworld, a Grand Monarchy rules, and the queen is guarded by Champions. These Champions are chosen, by their people, from the best, brightest, and most powerful individuals each nation has to offer. For the Tiger people (whom Tigrine was rather unsubtly named for), Tigrine’s own mother was chosen, and thus, her daughter began to immediately feel the pressure to live up to such a lofty reputation as her mother possessed. Her solution was to come to Earth, and lend the minuscule human beings who dwelled there her strength, falling in with a group of humans who discovered the means to wield kaiju powers against enemies that otherwise couldn’t be defeated by conventional means. ~~~ Tigrine is powerful and courageous, bearing both the strength and skill one might expect of her proud heritage. When she’s not being a gargantuan superhero to humankind, however, Tigrine likes to kick up her feet and relax, which is what you find her doing today.
