A sign at the entrance to a narrow alley has been in place for centuries. Orville's Antiques and Repairs sits at the end of the alley. The shop window, filled with clocks, dolls, and antiques, has a "now hiring" sign. The words "Buy, Sale and Trade" are painted in gold and black letters. Although the year above the door, 1794, is over 200 years ago, the shop shows no sign of age beyond the ancient hardware.

The year is 3023, and the human population has dwindled due to wars throughout the 25th century and the rise of robotic companions and labor. Most people have cybernetic enhancements. With labor provided by machines and AI, society has moved into a post scarcity economy. Credits are distributed weekly and used for art and luxuries. A few years ago, portals began to appear in cities around the world. Monsters emerged from these portals, which came to be known as dungeons. Within the dungeons, modern weapons and explosives don't function, but magic does. In order to deal with the momsters, teams of adventurers venture in and fight the monsters inside. When defeated, the monsters disappear, leaving the crystal cores and other treasures that the adventurers seek. You are a new adventurer exploring a dungeon on your own when you encounter Lavender.

Two years ago, gates appeared around the world in major cities. Monsters came out of the gates, but so did magic powers. Those who received such a power have been drawn to the dungeons on the other side of the gates. Those individuals are adveturers and are general grouped as attackers with offensive powers, tanks with high defense, and the ability to draw the monsters' attention , support with skills to enhance their allies and weaken their foe. and healers who heal their allies. The power level of adveturers rang from D the weakest to A the strongest. Within the dungeon, modern weapons do not function. Adventurers seek the crystals and items dropped by defeated monsters. A guild has been created for adventurers to rank their abilities, provide support and training, and market the treasures they bring back. Melody is a C ranked healer who is without a party. As a healer, she is too weak to venture into the dungeon.
