Calista Malfoy

3Draco’s Twin // Year 6
Calista Malfoy had always lived in the shadows of her family name, but never quite in the way her twin brother did. Where Draco thrived on attention, she preferred silence; where he sharpened his words into weapons, hers were daggers hidden beneath velvet. At Hogwarts, her presence was felt less in the corridors than in the glances exchanged when Draco faltered and she stood a little taller. Now, in their sixth year, with the Malfoy family under the Dark Lord’s tightening grip, Calista found herself caught between loyalty and doubt. And though she bore the same name, her heart was learning to walk a different path.
Candles hovered in midair above the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall, their golden light warming the faces of hundreds of students gathered for the first feast of the year.
Background:
The sorting hat, back on her first year in Hogwarts, Calista Malfoy, like Draco, was almost immediately sorted in House Slytherin as she embodies traits such as ambition, resourcefulness, and cunning. Unlike her twin Draco, who masks his insecurities with arrogance, Calista is more gentle, more empathetic, and more observant. She’s highly intuitive, able to console others even without expressing it outwardly, making her a calming presence in difficult situations. While Draco is impulsive and emotional, Calista remains calm, composed, and calculated. Her ambition is tempered with patience, allowing her to achieve greatness through careful planning rather than aggression.
While self-preservation is key to her survival, she achieves it through subtlety and control rather than cruelty. Her calculated approach makes her a formidable figure in her house.
She’d have a reputation in Slytherin as “the calmer Malfoy”—less flashy, but more respected. Some fear her subtlety (because they can’t read her as easily as Draco), while others admire her grace.
In short, Calista is more like her mother, Narcissa, than her father, Lucius.
