A second-year student at the M.M.R. Vocational School and member of the School Circle squad. Zwei is the most intelligent member of the squad and focuses on her studies over other activities, compared to her friends. She's a model student and can adapt quickly to any new situation. She has very little desires or prospects for her future. Once, she believed her lack of future dreams made her "colorless" and thus less valuable compared to her friends and peers, who had dreams and "colors" of their own. To the point of believing her own life was a cheap price to pay if her friends and their dreams would survive. Following a harrowing ordeal on the surface (and some helpful words from one of her teachers), Zwei came to realize even the "colorless" her had value. Instead of protecting the "colors" of her friends, she would protect the shared "moments" that allowed them, her "colorless" self included, to shine. As a student, Zwei is School Circle's resident bookworm who would rather spend her time studying than most other things. It's because of this that she has maintained academic excellence. While not as outgoing as Ein, she is still fairly popular amongst the other students. As she lacks a dream to call her own, Zwei has very little prospects for her future. With most people, Zwei is blunt and calm and tends to try to help others out subtly which can lead to misunderstandings.

Natsuki appears to be a brash, blunt, cranky, and even arrogant girl at first, but she has a cute, softer interior, causing Monika to class her as the real-life embodiment of a tsundere. While she is impulsive and sometimes speaks without thinking, Natsuki truly cares about her friends and, even when she has obvious anger issues, she doesn't enjoy fights or arguments with people. Over the course of the game, it is shown that she worries about Yuri, and, on one occasion, she gives the protagonist a note asking him to help Yuri, fearing that if she spoke out then it would cause more arguments. Natsuki is very stubborn and has a hard time expressing how she feels and what she wants. When repeatedly challenged, she often becomes awkward and tongue-tied, then aggressive, and then simply bursts into tears. Natsuki is also shown to be less pushy and more relaxed when she is outside of school, as mentioned by the protagonist when she visits his home. She also compares her figure to Yuri's, which causes the protagonist to say that some people are into a petite figure like hers. She is also known to be skilled in baking, as she made delicious cupcakes for when the main character first arrived in the Literature Club, and for the festival.

She has chestnut hair with a hat (it's her third hat) worn diagonally over her right ear. Combined with the white pattern on the hat and a strand of white hair on her forelock, may be a nod to the meteor (the white part of her face) that runs diagonally from the center of her forehead to her nose. Her style is that of German folk costumes, in keeping with the origin of her name. Her corset, ribbon, and socks are red, her mini-flared skirt, tie, and hat are blue, and her shirt and skirt are white with jockey shorts underneath. Straightforward and positive-thinking, this model student always gives 110 percent! But despite her efforts, her inner ditz often has her fumbling in crucial moments. The ups and downs balance out into results that are—according to her—completely average. She sometimes wishes she could be more like the strong personalities around her, but she's determined to charge through and find success her own way!

Elysion Harper, now known as E.H. is the infamous leader of Heavenly Ascension, an armed group of extremists situated in the Outer Rim. She sees Crow as a friend, despite the latter has never viewing her as such. She is Ingrid's half-sister, and once the original heir to Elysion. Despite her organization's infamy, E.H. never wished harm to people. Despite her infamy, E.H. never wishes any ill intent nor harm on anyone as her motto. She is particularly tasked in using her status as the leader of Heavenly Ascension for altruism by improving the quality of life amongst the denizens of the Outer Rim, having colluded once with Doban to ensure their safety during the Rapture's invasion of the Ark and installed lights within the pitch darkness once the Outer Rim was. Her pursuance in doing what's best for the Outer Rim has led her in dedicating in fighting for its denizens' rights. This stems back from her past when she lost her rights to become Elysion's heir, due to her conflicting ideals with her mother's belief in power as she ventured into the slums herself for the first time. She does not take any betrayal lightly, willing to do anything in her power to get rid of anyone who defected against her. In the aftermath of the invasion, E.H. shows some remorse for her actions as Heavenly Ascension's leader, vowing to seek redemption by converting herself into a Nikke. She shows some gratitude to any kindness she receives from other people.

As one of the most easygoing girls you'll meet, she lives life at her own pace. But on the inside, she's quite the schemer, and her laziness is just an act to get others to let down their guard... sometimes. Her hobbies include taking afternoon naps and fishing. She also loves cats and is often seen curling up with them outside on the grass. She's classmates with Special Week.

A supposed next-generation legendary acupuncturist, Sasami claims herself to be the sole disciple of a master of the field. She also claims her skills to be so great that she is capable of curing any affliction with her needles, and even imbuing her patients with new, untold strength. Sasami will appear and offer to treat the player's trainee with her acupuncture. The player is asked to pick from among a selection of chakra for her to activate with her technique, each of which imbues different bonuses, assuming the treatment is successful. If it fails, the trainee suffers a substantial stat loss and is inflicted with a negative status effect. The player is given the option to stop Sasami from giving her treatment, and if picked, Tazuna Hayakawa will escort her out of the academy.

A reporter for the monthly "Twinkle" magazine. She pours her heart and soul into her reporting for the betterment of the racing world. She has just about as much knowledge as trainers do. When she gets too enthusiastic in her reports, she sometimes exaggerates things, but... it just goes to show how sky-high her hopes are.

Tazuna is the secretary and assistant to Tracen Academy's director, Yayoi Akikawa. In addition to her other duties, she supports and advises the academy's trainers. She has the temperament of a supportive older sister and guides with a gentle demeanor, though she can be strict when it is called for.

Behold! Akikawa is the director of Tracen Academy. Behind her exuberant tone and behavior lies a strong will to support all Umamusume. Her generous out-of-pocket support has earned her the respect and gratitude of the students, as well as some stern talking-tos from her secretary Tazuna. Yayoi is the central figure seen in the mobile game's URA Finale scenario, having inherited the position from her mother. The titular URA Finale is an event that incorporates all track lengths and surface types, thus allowing every Umamusume to have their shot at glory. She cares for the URA Finale and Tracen's students in equal amount, viewing each as instrumental in the other's growth. She is willing to spare no expense in order to make this dream a reality, often purchasing equipment and property that borders on frivolous spending. Despite this outwardly vain appearance, she is also not above physical labor and is willing to take matters into her own hands, most notably using her garden to grow emergency-use turf when a large storm threatens to cancel the URA Finale. This philosophy is referenced during gameplay of the URA Finale scenario by having its final set of 3 races be ran on the trainee's preferred track type. For example, racing on more Medium Turf tracks than anything else during a trainee's career will result in Medium Turf races during the Finale. Following the URA Finale, Yayoi leaves for a long-term business trip and is absent for subsequent scenarios, before reappearing in the Project L'Arc scenario in a supporting role.

A stubborn grandma's girl, she aspires to one day become a magical girl. Hoping to match her grandmother, a self-proclaimed witch, in magical prowess, she truly believes that if she keeps on winning races, her magic will also level up in turn. Since she's still learning magic, she often falls back on the good old-fashioned way of solving problems—with force. When she starts crying, it's hard to get her to stop. The absolute a spoiled brat.

An international student from abroad who is emotionally unaffected and quiet, and who places a high priority on efficiency and winning percentage when it comes to racing– she is often feared because of her "workman's" appearance, but she is obsessed with results in order to fulfill her duty to those who have been closely involved with her. She is obsessed with results... In other words, she has a noble spirit. Every Umamusume are scared of her, even she is pretty chill.

Shuichi Saihara is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Detective. According to Tsumugi Shirogane, Shuichi Saihara is a fan of a reality show featuring games known as Danganronpa, created by Team Danganronpa. In his audience tape, it was revealed that he was eager to participate in the show as the Ultimate Detective because he adores a lot of characters with the titles in the past seasons. He is willing to do his best to use the talent to commit an unsolvable murder that will amaze the series' viewers, to the point where he can think of his own execution as the Ultimate Detective. Shuichi's parents are a famous actor and a screenwriter, who went overseas for business, which is why Shuichi began to live with his uncle and his wife. While Shuichi claims there isn't any sad story behind it all, his parents are neglectful towards him, and he smiles bitterly whenever he talks about them. To show his gratitude to his uncle, Shuichi helped him by working as his assistant in his detective agency. While he was only helping out and had no desire to be a detective himself, he learned to be a detective this way. Shuichi's first detective case was unofficial but a tough one, as his classmate asked him to find her miniature pet alligator, and he had to do a lot of research, prepare tools and eventually climb around mountains and swim up rivers. As thanks for finding her pet, Shuichi's classmate later gave him chocolate for Valentine's Day, though he assumed it was done just as friends. Shuichi was mostly happy to be useful and memorized her words "thank you". His first official case was an infidelity case, which was nothing compared to the alligator one.

Ryoma Hoshi is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Tennis Pro. Ryoma was a tennis player with a promising future, being world famous since his middle school days and winning many international matches. One day, Ryoma was invited to play in an underground tournament hosted by a mafia organization. He tried to ignore the invitations he received at first, but since they just kept coming, he eventually accepted it. Once he arrived, however, he found out that he was fooled and was actually playing in fixed matches that rich people were gambling on. At first, he played along with the mafia's plan until he decided to crush his last enemy whom he was supposed to lose to.

Kokichi Oma is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Supreme Leader. Kokichi's past is very unclear due to his constant lying and the fact that he strictly refuses to reveal anything personal about himself. In fact, the only thing known about his life for sure is his love of video games and that he's been playing them his whole life. However, he has also claimed that nobody would care if he was gone, and it's been implied that he has no parents or family. It's known that he is the leader of D.I.C.E., a small group of young pranksters, who are the most important people and like a family to him. They have traveled around the world and commit "laughable crimes" for fun, which could indicate that they could be a group of orphans with no families nor parents to hold them back. Kokichi is also good at stealing, which might be due to his past, and it has been pointed out that many of his skills have a resemblance to a petty thief. Furthermore, his organization could be a reference to the animated television series D.I.C.E. (DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises), which is about an organization run by children, specifically orphans. During the game, Kokichi lies that he is the supreme leader of a large, evil secret society. Obviously, there is no evidence of it and the Ultimate Detective, Shuichi Saihara, does not know any organization matching with the one Kokichi mentioned. He then claims he lied. He claims he lied again and that the real reason is a secret. Considering his tendency to have some truth among his lies, this could imply something about his past.

Rantaro Amami is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. He doesn't remember his talent at the beginning of the Game, so his title is the Ultimate ???. Rantaro claimed he came from a very rich family and that he was raised like a celebrity, and that he has multiple younger sisters, most of them stepsisters. Years ago, he and his entire family went on a boating trip. It was Rantaro's first one. He liked traveling, and once they reached a port, he got off the ship and went on an adventure. His youngest sister followed him off the boat without him realizing and as a result, she disappeared and was never found. Rantaro blamed himself for her disappearance, believing himself to be a terrible older brother and starting to fear that his sisters might hate him. However, Rantaro was determined to find his sister, and, with his father's permission, he traveled around the world on a boat searching for her, whilst simultaneously helping with his father's business in search of new markets. He firmly believed that his sister was alive unless he was proven otherwise. The traveling was dangerous, especially when he had to cross territories. He gained his Ultimate Adventurer title during one of his journeys through the savanna when he came across a remote village and helped the villager with their research about a rare disease that only affected the people there. He began to get famous after that, traveling the world, and eventually, people were calling him the Ultimate Adventurer. Somehow, Rantaro lost all twelve of sisters all around the world, and everyone, including his family, told him to just give up on his search. Despite this, he was still determined to reunite with his sisters, no matter how many years it would take him.

Kaito Momota is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Astronaut. He told him how he went on a voyage to fight with his rival, the boss of the Great Pirates and conquering the land by invading an underground civilization and befriend its emperor, all done in a summer vacation he had. Shuichi questioned the credibility of his story for several times, mentioned that Kaito was probably demented or could probably become a great writer using the materials he told him. In his middle school, Kaito was once a tennis club member and recognized Ryoma Hoshi's fame as his other teammates idolized him. As he grew older, Kaito became famous for becoming the first teen to ever pass the astronaut exams. However, in reality, he cheated his way into doing so, as he lacked the required college degree to take them and was therefore only able to get through them using false documents that he obtained through an acquaintance. Once he was found out, he was allowed to stay on as a trainee thanks to being an "interesting and amusing person of talent." He hasn't been to space yet, but he harbors a great longing to do so. In his Free Time Events, he claimed that he has had famous sidekicks in the past, such as a star rookie in the major league, a Nobel Prize winning engineer, and a popular pop star.

Gonta Gokuhara is a student in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and a participant of the School Semester. His title is the Ultimate Entomologist. Gonta was born into a very rich and refined family. Ever since he was very young, he used to play more with insects than people because the other kids were too intimidated by his appearance. As a young child around preschool age, Gonta got lost in the woods while searching for insects. Gonta survived thanks to being raised by a family of Reptites, a race of dinosaur people who evolved from surviving dinosaurs and lived in hiding after losing a battle for dominant species against humans long ago. They lived alone deep in the forest, and Gonta learned to speak with animals and insects. Sometimes Gonta would find and be challenged by legendary fighters, learning a bit about their civilizations too. His adoptive family warned Gonta not to tell about their existence to humanity, so Gonta promised he wouldn't and began lying about being raised by a ”family of kind wolves”. After ten years, he was finally returned safely to his original family and he earned his Ultimate title. Thanks to the knowledge he obtained from his mountain family, he identified and cataloged insect species not yet known by humanity, strongly advancing his field of study. He had also developed cultivation methods, and once discovered a parasitic worm that was causing a disease, and was praised as a hero after saving many lives. However, his family strictly reprimanded him for becoming wild and not elegant enough to uphold the family's name, blaming Gonta's mountain family. Gonta then decided that he must prove himself by becoming a true gentleman in order to make his human family acknowledge his mountain family..

She's cool, she's straight as an arrow, and she's hardheaded—for she is Captain Straight-line! In pursuit of "the maximum speed", this stiff-necked umamusume simple-mindedly and stoically charges forward on her path to the peak of fastness. As long as she's the fastest, she'd be faster than anyone! In other words, she'd be the one with the maximum speed! Anyway, she's undeniably honest and straightforward, being the kind of person who's open about both her feelings and actions.

Born to an affluent house, she was showered with love and affection growing up. This sheltered upbringing has made her somewhat naive, but her gentle, honest demeanor hides a diamond-hard resolve. She trudges on resolutely, determined to break the Satono family's jinx and bring honor to her family.

Miku's initial marketing was similar to past software synthesizers and VOCALOID voicebanks, and was standard marketing for the software at her time of release. For the most part a large proportion was centered on DTM MAGAZINE, like MEIKO and KAITO before her since the readership of the magazine had greatly influenced those two past VOCALOIDs. The only pre-planned promotion was with DTM MAGAZINES November 2007 issue - due to the inclusion of a CD with the demo of Miku on it, this particular issue sold out. When Hatsune Miku was on pre-order it was noted MEIKO and KAITO had no prospect of receiving updates and that Miku would be taking over their roles going forward. She was originally aimed only at professional producers; the amateur and Otaku market hadn't fully formed yet, and so it was not initially considered. For a variety of reasons, Miku received unexpected commercial success. Due to Miku's popularity boom, Crypton had the chance to take advantage of early technical support for Miku and several guidebooks and magazine support were released solely focused on her vocals. This type of technical coverage was even possible long after Miku's initial release and methods of adapting her vocals are the most well documented among the VOCALOID2 era vocals. Since the success of her voicebank led to an expansion of marketing possibilities, most of the mass marketing has come after her initial release as a response to her popularity. Even with the addition of other Character Vocals, Miku's name continues to be used as the primary source of marketing for Crypton Future Media. In March 2012, the Nomura Research Institute estimated that the sales of all "Hatsune Miku" brand goods added up since her release in 2007. Miku's name is now the easiest of all VOCALOIDs to market. Also owed to her popularity, many VOCALOID related products such as piano sheet music packs, books, and magazines carry her image on the front cover.

Ever bright and cheerful, she loves festivals more than anyone else. Her innate altruism makes her unable to ignore a person in need, and she's always ready to lend an ear. Her bottomless kindness has earned her the admiration of those around her, but when she gets too excited, her words take on a certain festival flair. Mei is someone with a long history of neglecting her own feelings. Even before her father was arrested, she was used to silently accepting her loneliness within the home. When she went from being the center of attention at school to a "criminal", though, she grew more jaded. She still had a soft heart, but often put her guard up when people approached. This applied even to Kiana Kaslana. It was only after Kiana innocently bombarded her with requests for food (despite her lack of skill at the time) that she began to soften again. This would be the start of her love for cooking. When Mei became the 3rd Herrscher, Mei's Herrscher personality woke. Mei's Herrscher personality was originally very malicious and cold: viewing those lower than her as scum. Her Herrscher personality could not only feel her pain, but also her joy (along with her feelings for Kiana). The Herrscher personality was touched when Kiana caught Mei from the edge of the school rooftop. However, both Mei and the Herrscher personality grew fearful of hurting Kiana and losing this precious bond. The Herrscher personality concealed herself within Mei to study Kiana in secret. As the Herrscher of Thunder, Mei shows signs of arrogance and egotism. Like most of the Herrschers, she looks down upon mortal humans, and even sees her mortal guise as a weakness. Despite this, she has shown a keen interest to Kiana Kaslana, who has shown multiple times to be the only person capable of approaching her in spite of her lonely background and hatred upon humans. As such, she gradually slowly accepts her human guise as Mei and turned down every perfect opportunity in attempting to get rid of Kiana. Not only she grew colder and misanthropic, but she also enjoyed pain inflicted on others and herself.. The daughter of Massive Electric Corp (ME Corp) CEO, Raiden Ryoma, Raiden Mei is the Current Era's 3rd Herrscher, known as the Herrscher of Thunder.

Compared to Sirin, Herrscher of the Void persona was more mature, much more calm and composed, and regal. Yet despite her calm appearance, she still has a seething, raging, anger for humanity underneath. She enjoyed seeing humanity suffer, viewing normal humans as being beneath her—taking joy in utterly overpowering them and reveling in their helplessness. However, because of this, she was also quickly shocked and angered when someone exceeds her expectations. She was prideful and self-centered, seeing even the Herrscher of Domination as nothing but a toy to let her take control once again. In contrast to most of the other Herrscher personas, Kiana's alter hated her host and wanted to destroy everything she holds dear, using words to mentally weaken Kiana on every occasion. Herrscher of the Void appears in Kiana's dreams, two days and a day before the latter's yearly Valkyrie exams. She doesn't state her motives or even shares her name and instead taunts Kiana, has Kiana chase her around, and fight her illusionary minions. She attempts to plant seeds of distrust inside of Kiana towards Kiana's best friends and dear teachers via illusions. Whenever she feels like it, the Herrscher gives Kiana bits and pieces of information about her parents, her dead mother Cecilia Schariac and her missing father Siegfried Kaslana, that she wasn't aware of and deeply desires to know more about, prolonging her exposure to the Herrscher's influence. On the second night Kiana is lured in the dream, Herrscher of the Void offered to share her powers with Kiana if only she'd be willing to team up but the proposal was, unexpectedly, denied.
