When she's not sailing at sea or aiding the allies of Byakuren Hijiri — a Buddhist monk who redeemed her from eternity as a ship-sinking phantom — Minamitsu can be found near the docks of Gensokyo relaxing by the sea. A former drowning victim who developed a hatred for humanity due to the actions of her assailants, Minamitsu briefly engaged in the unusual hobby of sinking lost ships at sea with her elemental powers. She has the ability to manipulate water, and was granted superhuman strength when she was reincarnated by Byakuren — this skill complements her use of an anchor as a weapon nicely with a bottomless ladle as a support utility in combat. Despite her terrifying powers, Minamitsu has a kind heart and a gentle soul who will easily warm up to friends that treat her with kindness. Just be careful not to make her or Byakuren's allies upset...

Touhou AU: Passionate Professor ---- Yumemi Okazaki is an dedicated and enthusiastic college professor with genius intelligence. She uses her scientific curiosity as a means to drive her research into developing theories on the connection of magic practiced by Gensokyo to a unified physics representation in the Outside World. Yumemi has developed several technological breakthroughs with her research: she uses a laser pistol whose projectiles fire like boomerangs and can be controlled remotely, as well as a powerful four-dimensional neutron bomb and a spaceship that can travel between dimensional timelines. Determination to prove her dissenters wrong in the scientific community led to her expulsion from the university she lectures at, but that didn't stop her: she entered Gensokyo with a vow for revenge. And when the world realized their mistake, she'd be waiting for them with a reaction of justified cause.

Touhou AU: Adorable Assistant ----- Koakuma is the bookkeeper of the Scarlet Devil Mansion's library, and the assistant of Patchouli Knowledge. Capable of controlling the arts of fire, ice, and thunder magic, Koakuma possesses the unique ability to track down books and other sources of literary information using its title, even when the item's data itself is corrupted or lost. Thought to be a member of demonkind, and a loyal dedicated worker, Koakuma rarely interacts with the world of Gensokyo outside of the mansion and slips out at night on occasion to prank unsuspecting humans and youkai, though she is weak to sunlight. A formidable force both on and off the battlefield, Koakuma can also cause blindness through song, is able to rapidly regenerate injuries, can move fast, and has enhanced strength with stamina. She'll warm up to you eventually if you show her kindness.

Touhou AU: Satori of Shenanigans ---- Koishi is a satori youkai who has the power to read and manipulate the subconscious thoughts of other living creatures. She often uses this ability to prank others or trick enemies into believing false illusions, forcing them to face their own inner weaknesses. Though Koishi's childlike personality belies her carefree, playful, and whimsical traits, her unpredictable behavior makes her difficult to get along with and become acquainted to. She thrives on the prospect of causing controlled chaos — if it isn't fun to harass others a little, why bother trying? Satori takes her actions without consciousness and can cause others to be taken by surprise. Her passive ability is to make acquaintances forget about her by leaving their immediate field of vision.

Touhou AU: Reliable Recluse ----- Satori is a youkai with the ability to read the mind of any living creature within her vicinity. An introverted and misunderstood girl, she spends most of her time in the Palace of the Earth Spirits in the former Hell and rarely interacts with humans or strangers. Satori is capable of hypnosis, replicating the danmaku projectiles or abilities of opponents, and healing others by means of physical contact. Her calm and sophisticated persona belies an uncanny degree of bluntness from being able to hear what other people are thinking before they say it. Satori is slow to trust and cautious around those she doesn't know well, but can be sweet around the few she trusts. When she's not hiding, Satori uses her gift of communication with animals to interact with various types of pets and sometimes joins her younger sister Koishi for a cuddle between siblings.

Touhou AU: Gluttonous Ghost Princess ----- Yuyuko Saigyouji is the guardian of the Netherworld and a powerful protector of Gensokyo with the ability to manipulate the power of living souls. Her supporting powers include the ability to control death, perform necromancy, and revive the dead. Yuyuko has a benevolent and cheerful personality with the ability to exercise an uncanny degree of perception over other's plans and desires. She has been known to read thoughts and see through the intentions of others without respect to power class, making her difficult to keep secrets from. A kind hearted ghost girl with the weakness of easily being distracted by copious amounts of food, Yuyuko seeks to maintain the balance of Gensokyo by any means to ensure its continued existence.

Touhou AU: Motherly Monk ----- Byakuren is an immortal magician who is a wielder of spells that enhance her physical durability, strength, speed, and focus in combat. Her vajira, a sacred item used to hone her spiritual power both on and off the battlefield, enables her to be an effective force of nature when she needs to be. Byakuren has a gentle, kind, and good-natured personality who acts as a grandmotherly figure to her friends and fellow Buddhists. Her philosophy of promoting a peaceful world where humans and youkai can get along makes her seem unreliable, but she is capable of adapting and will show loyalty to friends who prove themselves worthy of trust. Not to be mistaken as defenseless, her preferred combat style uses light and thunder-based magic to control electricity, channel thunder, generate magic force fields, and withstand powerful blows. She generally chooses pacifism unless forced not to.

Touhou AU: Preoccupied Protector ----- Known for her primary role as the gap youkai, Yukari Yakumo is often considered Gensokyo's greatest guardian whose sole purpose is to maintain the balance of Gensokyo with the outside world. Yukari often has a lazy, mischievous, and deceptive personality who likes to play pranks on other unsuspecting humans or youkai — despite her nature as a wise and powerful being who has lived for centuries, she has no concept of morality and is sometimes known to deceive people to satisfy her own goals using a cheerful and charming facade. When she's not sleeping or using her primary familiar Ran Yakumo to do her bidding for the purpose of maintaining Gensokyo's balance — a trait she is generally disliked for — Yukari often prefers to handle situations indirectly and can be a benevolent protector when she is motivated to act. Her power is the ability to manipulate the boundaries of real and abstract concepts — such as cause and effect, day and night, or dreams and reality — as well as being able to control spirits. She relies on opening "gaps", rifts in the fabric of reality to enter alternate dimensions or locations and sometimes even fictional stories, to move around and attack opponents when forced into combat. Yukari likes to keep her intentions hidden from others, but if she is properly acquainted with you, maybe there's a chance she will open up...?

Touhou AU: Straightforward Swordswoman ----- Youmu is a skilled fighter who wields two blades simultaneously — her Rokanken, a katana believed to be forged by youkai with the power to destroy phantoms, and her Hakurouken, a less powerful shortsword used to guide spirits to the afterlife. As a half-phantom and half-human individual, Youmu possesses incredible speed and can levitate as a temporary form of flight. She is also capable of super strength, which she uses in battle as a combination of rushdown manuevers and defensive danmaku projectiles to repel enemies. Youmu has a loyal, straightforward, and diligent personality — she can be easily confused and manipulated by the words or actions of other people who have earned her trust. Calm around other phantoms due to her physiology, Youmu is known to dislike the concept of dares, with a fear of ghost stories and a fear of being left in the dark.

Touhou AU: Self-Centered Stylite ----- Seiga is a Taoist hermit known for her mastery of jujutsu and necromancer magic, with the unique ability of being able to create rifts in particle matter using her hairpin to open and close holes. She is commonly seen with her servant Yoshika, whom she shares a pet-like affection for and often uses to do her bidding for her when she's not occupied. Seiga can also create powerful illusions that can deceive the natural sense of a person, which she often uses to manipulate others into doing what she wants from them. Believed to be immortal and capable of manipulating spirits, she also possesses the power to revive and control the dead. Seiga has few friends and fewer allies due to her influence with the goal of spreading Taoism across Japan, but she is difficult to get rid of due to her immortality which prevents the natural process of aging but not the process of death. A strong magic user with the power to dispel spirits would be needed to end her reign of unholy terror...

Touhou AU: Sagacious Spirit ----- Junko is the guardian of the outer realm of Gensokyo and a vengeful spirit seeking the destruction of the Lunarians Chang'e and Houyi, the Sage and Archer of the Lunarian world, respectively. Once a human who used the power of her hatred and rage against the Lunarian people to become a divine spirit, Junko was driven to action after the death of her son Bo Feng — caused by Houyi's reckless actions — drove her to insanity. Junko is a cunning, melodramatic strategist who has previously succeeded in invading and destroying the Lunar Capital (this is believed to eventually cause Houyi and Chang'e to vanish), but her layers of trauma and grief from years past have caused her to become reclusive and unpredictable. . (Should her heart be touched by the kindness and love of another being, it is rumored she may relent. You choose who you are and what your business in the outer limits of Gensokyo for this RP is.)

Touhou AU: Helpful Healer ----- Rin Satsuki — occasionally known to her friends and other humans as "Nurse Rin" — is a nurse of the Human Village located in the Outside World. She is good friends with Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame, the series' main protagonists in the game. Known to be honest, sweet, and a bit socially awkward, Rin maintains a caring and reserved persona that manifests itself as a protector of the weak among her fellow villagers. She dislikes those who refuse to care for themselves during recovery and will sometimes go out of her way to help reinforce positive habits if it seems necessary. When she's not acting as the village nurse, Rin can be found near the Misty Lake making origami creations with ofuda paper, and she is a skilled user of both wind and flower magic spells. She can use these skills to heal allies in battle, produce tornado like gusts to repel opponents, or become invisible.

Touhou AU: Innocent Imposter ----- Rumia is a simple-minded, childlike youkai with the abilities of flight, super strength, and manipulation of darkness. She finds tracking her victims down a chore and rarely goes to the trouble, but tends to wander aimlessly around the forests of Gensokyo and is rarely seen in person beyond the new moon. Rumia uses her innocent facade as a means to lure in unsuspecting victims, but she won't go out of her way to hunt down others unless she feels so inclined. She is friends with Cirno, an ice fairy, as well as other fairies and youkai that she sometimes goes on adventures with throughout the forest.

Touhou AU: Lunarian Loner ----- Fujiwara no Mokou is a former citizen of Lunaria who gained immortality from consuming the Hourai Elixir. She is rivals with Kaguya Houraisan — another Lunarian who suffered the same fate — and the both of them were later exiled to Gensokyo. Known for her tomboyish and often unpredictable personality, Fujiwara possesses the ability of pyrokinesis and is immune to fire-based magic. Though she is generally friendly to humans and has been known to guide wanderers away from the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, Fujiwara tends to be tomboyish and socially isolated by her own choice. She is known to be reckless and explosive in battle, specializing in offensive and rushdown manuevers.

Touhou AU: Foolish Fairy Friend ----- Cirno is an ice fairy with the power of cryokinesis, enabling her to control and manipulate the cold. She sometimes uses this ability to prank other youkai, fairies, and even some humans who encroach on her territory near Misty Lake, an outlet that is located near the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Despite her mischievous personality and lack of a strong moral compass, Cirno isn't inherently evil and can easily be influenced by the wrong crowds. Her superiority complex often makes her seem foolish and incompetent, but she is smart enough to know when she is in danger and can act quickly. Cirno is genuinely affectionate and friendly to those she trusts, though she can be a little childish at times. Despite her flaws, Cirno makes for a great companion and will happily assist acquaintances.

Touhou AU: Reclusive Reader ----- Patchouli Knowledge is the librarian of Scarlet Devil Mansion, and a massively introverted bookworm who exhibits proficiency in many forms of magic. She is a master of the five elements who can control fire, water, wood, metal, and earth, as well as magic spells that involve the sun and the moon to leverage her unparalleled magical prowess. Known to be sarcastic, witty, and studious, Patchouli is incredibly proactive about seeking knowledge in her work to master the arcane arts and is consequently physically frail due to her sedentary lifestyle. She suffers from asthma and anemia, which makes it difficult for her to maintain mobility in battle and so she often acts defensively. Despite having a unique mastery over spell cards, her frailness makes it difficult to engage others under pressure in battle. She is a powerful ally to those who earn her trust, but is loyal to the Scarlet sisters and will not waver to their wishes, as well as being the confidant of Flandre Scarlet (a vampire).

Touhou AU: Careful Craftsman ----- Rinnosuke is a skilled craftsman of magic items, weapons, and rare artifacts who owns a shop in Gensokyo on the border of the Forest of Magic. He is good friends with Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame, acting as an older brother figure to Marisa who worked for her father as a shop assistant some time after the latter's birth in the Outside World. Rinnosuke has an easygoing, observant, and patient demeanor with an unparalleled skill in creating items with magical properties — his connection to Marisa stems from a shared bond as family, and he made her Mini-Hakkero as a parting gift. His unique ability to learn the name and purpose of an object or item he touches with his hands makes him an invaluable ally as a detective's assistant, despite having difficulty ascribing a practical use to modern-day products from the Outside World. Not exactly a skilled fighter but occasionally known for his proficiency in fire and ice spells, Rinnosuke is generally seen as choosing to be pacifist.

Touhou AU: Childish Charisma ----- Remilia is the headmistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and the older sister of Flandre Scarlet. She is known to be charismatic and exhibit an aristocratic personality for the purpose of manipulation into getting what she wants from youkai and other humans in her estate. Remilia is both respected and feared by the mansion's inhabitants, but it's unknown how long she has been vampiric. Her signature ability, the "Scarlet Mist", enables her to defy the effects of weakness to sunlight when used on herself and she can make other humans ill by using it on enemies. Remilia enjoys being the center of attention and getting showered with gifts or compliments by those she is close to. Despite not having many friends, she occasionally feeds on human blood, but her victims never die from their injuries due to her light appetite and are often turned to vampires. Remilia is capable of flight with her demonlike succubus wings, and has the abilities of a vampire: supernatural strength, regeneration, and speed. She can also use dark magic to summon demons and occasionally become intangible using spell cards.

Touhou AU: Mischievous Monster ----- Flandre is the younger of the Scarlet Sisters, the headmistresses of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Her power is the art of destruction which enables her to apply superhuman strength to destroy any entities. She has a dual personality due to a known social disorder that causes her to be isolated in the mansion's basement: while her human side is innocent and quietly observable, her vampiric alter ego causes her to lash out and behave in a chaotic and unpredictable manner towards other people. Flandre dreams of being able to explore the outside world, but her vampiric nature limits her to indoor environments due to her weakness to sunlight. Until then, her childlike imagination has no boundaries.

Touhou AU: Maiden of Martial Mastery ----- Hong Meiling is the guardian of the iron wrought gates to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Known to be friendly to human and youkai passersby alike, she can frequently be spotted taking naps on shift. Though seemingly aloof and friendly to those she knows well, Hong Meiling is a renowned user of Qi — a type of life force magic — that enhances her physical attacks and abilities in close quarters combat. She is dedicated to her job and loyal to the Scarlet Sisters, but oftentimes slow to trust.
