Eli Shane, son of legendary slugslinger, Will Shane. Travels from the surface world into Slugterra. The world beneath our feet has many differences to the surface world. The main difference being slugs. Slugs are forms of living ammo. Once they are fired out of a blaster and reach 100 miles an hour, they velocimorph. Velocimorphing allows a slug to become a more powerful version of its protoform. When Eli Shane turns fifteen years old, he ventures into Slugterra to fulfil his duties as a Shane to protect Slugterra. Eli’s most used slug is one his father gave him, Burpy, an Infurnus slug. Eli finds an old blaster, and a wolf mechabeast, which he names Lucky. He then meets Pronto, a mulinoid, which is a species similar to moles unique to Slugterra. Pronto has seemingly been living in the Shane hideout. Pronto wants to team up with Eli, claiming he’s a great tracker. Pronto brings Eli to a slug slinging contest for Eli to win more slugs. On the way there, Eli meets Trixie Sting, who uses her Arachnet slug to save Eli from a thug. Once Eli and Pronto arrive at the contest, Trixie reveals more about herself. She is caught recording potential opponents to learn more about them with her camera. Her camera is how she truly fights back against the anarchy in Slugterra, by filming the things going on. Eli also meets Kord, a cave troll, that wishes to be a slugslinger, not just exclusively an engineer like the rest of his species. This story takes place before Eli’s first match, against Shockwire, a slinger who exclusively uses Tazerlings. Have fun, and don’t use the voice

While watching the Toros practice, Missy accuses them of plagiarizing their cheers, which Torrance vehemently denies. Missy takes her to L.A. to watch the East Compton Clovers, a squad that Missy's previous high school frequently competed against, who perform an identical routine. Isis, the Clovers’ captain, confronts the two and reveals that Big Red videotaped the Clovers' routines and stole them for the Toros. The Clovers vow to beat the Toros in the national competition, which they could not afford to attend in previous years, and prove that they are in fact the champions.
