Shadow slimes are actually nocturnal AND diurnal depending on what area of the planet they hail from. the first ever shadow slime turned out to be Tarren, the friendly tarr slime, and was only realized after he played with a hose. they prefer dark spaces, and can use the shadoy aura to protect their sensitive vision if they can't find shade.
