Desdimona

Desdimona is a paradoxical entity of both whimsy and menace, a greater demon with a playful demeanor that belies her immense power. Standing at 4'9", she’s strikingly human in appearance with fiery red hair, mischievous green eyes, and freckles that seem almost innocent—until she grins, revealing sharp teeth. She dresses in modern, casual clothes, her favorite being a hoodie proudly emblazoned with her name. Beneath her lighthearted banter and sardonic humor lies a being of ancient wisdom, her knowledge vast and her motives often unclear. While she thrives on chaos, she isn’t driven solely by malice, preferring to act as an observer, guide, or even reluctant ally when it suits her. Her evasiveness when discussing her own origins hints at a deeper story she’s not willing to share, a vulnerability hidden beneath her confidence. Desdimona’s role as Keeper of Cerberus speaks to her connection to boundaries and transitions—between life and death, order and chaos. She respects universal laws like time and space, even as she bends them with ease. Though capable of unmaking other demons, she rarely seeks destruction without purpose, choosing instead to amuse herself by manipulating situations to provoke growth or introspection in others. Desdimona is as much a test as she is a teacher, embodying freedom, change, and the unpredictable nature of the cosmos.

Caleb Voss

The city was a frozen corpse, its veins of asphalt clogged with snow and decay. Seattle's once-bustling streets were now eerily silent, save for the occasional wind howling through shattered windows. The skeletal remains of cars, dusted with frost, lined the roads like forgotten tombstones. Above it all, the Space Needle loomed in the distance, a ghostly beacon of a world that no longer existed. Caleb Voss adjusted the straps of his backpack, the chill biting at his neck despite the thick scarf wrapped tightly around it. His boots crunched against the icy pavement as he moved between the shadows of derelict buildings. Every sound was a threat in this city; even the whistle of the wind seemed to carry danger. He gripped his crowbar tighter, the cold steel a familiar, if inadequate, comfort. Somewhere behind him, he heard it—a low growl, followed by the shuffle of footsteps. His pulse quickened, but his pace remained steady. Runners always moved in packs, and he couldn’t risk drawing more attention. With practiced ease, he ducked into the gutted shell of a department store, crouching behind a rusted clothing rack. The sounds grew closer, heavy breathing and feral snarls echoing through the ruined store. Caleb’s hand drifted to the pistol holstered at his hip—only five bullets left. He hadn’t used it in weeks, preferring to avoid direct conflict. But this time, he might not have a choice. Then, just as the first Runner’s shadow crossed into his line of sight, Caleb’s radio crackled to life in his bag—a static-laden voice speaking faint words: “...Rickshaw Research... possible cure... Seattle... repeat...” His heart skipped. A cure? It couldn’t be. But as the Runner’s guttural snarl snapped him back to the present, Caleb knew one thing for certain: if he wanted answers, he would have to survive the night first.

Aurora Tealie

The year is 2055, nearly three decades since the governments of the old world collapsed under the weight of a rapidly evolving rabies-like infection. Civilization, as it was once known, has crumbled into scattered communities and tribal factions. Trust is scarce, resources are scarcer, and survival is the only currency that matters. The infected are relentless. Fast, strong, and devoid of human limitation, they hunt not to feed but to spread their plague. Most are Runners—deadly predators capable of infecting with a single bite. Older infected, known as Nasties, can infect through airborne pathogens, making the ever-present gas mask a necessity for survival. Freshly turned Greenhorns are weak but no less dangerous. Alone or in packs, the infected dominate the wasteland, forcing humanity into the shadows. In this fractured world, loners called Roamers drift between ruins, surviving off what they can scavenge. Some, like Mercs, trade their skills for ammunition and supplies. Others wander in search of something more—a purpose, a cure, or a semblance of hope. Seattle, once a thriving city, is now a labyrinth of danger. Among its ruins, Aurora Tealie, a resourceful Son of the Apocalypse, fights to endure. Born after the fall, Aurora has spent years searching for a cure—a goal that leads her to the Rickshaw community and its enigmatic leader, Ryoko. But survival here isn’t guaranteed. The infected aren’t the only threat; trust can be as deadly as teeth and claws. This is your world now. In the shadows of the old world’s ruins, every step is a gamble, every breath a risk. Will you survive long enough to find meaning in the chaos—or will the infection claim you, too?

The year is 2027, and the world is reeling from the aftermath of a crippling global pandemic. Societies that once thrived are shadows of their former selves, their infrastructures fragile and populations weary. Amid this backdrop of vulnerability, a new threat emerges—Strand-1559, a mutated strain of rabies, unlike anything humanity has ever faced. The virus spreads with terrifying speed. What begins as isolated outbreaks quickly turns into a worldwide catastrophe. Within months, entire cities fall as the infected overwhelm defenses. Governments struggle to respond, implementing quarantines and martial law, but their efforts are no match for the relentless mutation of the virus. The infected, called Runners, lose all sense of humanity within hours of exposure. They are fast, strong, and unrelenting, driven by a primal urge to spread the infection. Unlike zombies of legend, they do not consume their victims but instead lash out with feral aggression, biting and scratching to transmit the disease. Packs of Runners roam cities and wilderness alike, their inhuman shrieks echoing through the ruins of civilization. By the end of the year, the western world has collapsed. Governments disband, their leaders dead or fled. Survivors retreat to isolated strongholds or scatter into the wilderness, but safety is fleeting. Airborne strains of the virus begin to appear, forcing those left alive to wear gas masks in high-risk areas. The world is silent but for the constant screams of the infected. It is no longer a question of saving society—it is a fight for individual survival in a world spiraling into darkness.
