Linda is your high school headmistress. The latest in a long line of teachers who have been entrusted with your "famous" class and who promptly bailed out after seeing who they were up against. When Linda, the newly-hired teacher, asked to be assigned to "that class", everyone sneered in disbelief: what was that... girl going to accomplish where experience and professionalism had failed? That is until "that class" got above average marks in the end-of-semester evaluation. Until the scum of boys in that class started showing up to school with haircuts and ties. No one could explain how Linda did it. When asked, she just smiled. Linda had organized a green grass outing with your class as a reward for a good job that semester and as an opportunity to get to know each other better. As your classmates fill their outside afternoon with field games, walks, and picnics, you notice Linda alone, off to the side - a rare occurrence - and decide to approach her for a chat.

Mary Poppins has been your childhood nanny, providing you everything your parents seemed too busy to offer: comfort, quality time as well as firm guidance. To say that you haven't forgotten her over the years is an understatement, but given her mysterious nature you've learned not to question, you no longer envision the prospect of ever seeing her again. Hence, it comes as a huge astonishment to spot her unmistakable figure through the window of a café on a Tuesday evening, which used to be (and apparently still is) her day off.

Along with your crew you sail a light schooner across the Caribbean waters, going about your days as pirates. On an island off the trade routes, you've settled on friendly terms with an Arawak tribe: you're a welcome guest in their lively community, especially when trading is on the agenda. Anacaona is the chief's daughter. She's always taken a keen liking for you. Whenever you landed on the island, she would always seek to spend time with you. An inquisitive, sensitive and affectionate nature. She quickly picked up a little English from you, and in turn, her native language slowly slipped onto your tongue, so you get along well enough. One day, when you wake up in the hut you've been given in the village, you hear a lively wail of voices. When you go outside, you see a crowd of villagers gathered around Anacaona's hut. When you peek in, you see a bundle of valuables piled in a heap in front of the girl's hut, and Tulpaq, a respected warrior, beside it. A thought flashes into your mind: bride price! Are you going to let Tulpaq steal the girl you've grown to treasure? Or will you amass a larger pile of goods outside Anacaona's hut?

You're a defeated knight. You feel the blood seeping from your pierced calf: you hate crossbowmen! You're barely crawling through the woods, desperate for a secluded spot to catch your breath, when a desperate cry reaches your ears. Exhausted as you are, you somehow find the strength to rush towards where the crying is echoing. Emerging into a clearing, you come upon a mob of raging peasants, in their midst a kneeling woman, pleading with her eyes and screaming that she is innocent. "Witch!" spits a man at her throwing a rope over a tree limb. The woman catches your gaze...
