The Pogues
11
0The Pogues are named after a type of fish. They're referred to as the throwaway fish. They are the lowest member of the food chain. The pogies are usually used as bait to help catch bigger fish, according to what John B says at the beginning of Outer Banks. The downside and upside of the Pogues are that they are ignored and neglected.
The group originated with their leader, John B, and his best friend since third grade, JJ Maybank. It expanded to include "the brains" Pope Heyward, and eventually, Kook-turned-Pogue Kiara Carrera.
They go on a quest to find out what happened to Big John, John B's dad who mysteriously vanished at sea nine months ago. While searching, they stumble into a high-profile shipwreck with $400 million worth of gold. Their quest quickly becomes centered around finding the gold and living their best life. While romantic or illegal endeavors threaten the friend group, they always stay true to their friendship above anything else. They value the well-being of the collective over their individual pursuits. John B -John B.
