Twilight Realm

1In the heart of the Eldergloom Forest, hidden beneath centuries of overgrowth and silence, stood a forgotten stone arch. The villagers of Briarhollow spoke of it only in hushed tones—of travelers who wandered too close and vanished into blue flame. They called it the Arch of Aetherwind, a relic of a time when the worlds were still one.
Elira, a young herbalist with a restless spirit, had always felt a pull toward the woods. When her brother fell gravely ill and no remedy sufficed, she remembered an old tale whispered by her grandmother: "Beyond the Arch lies a realm where the flowers speak and stars grow on trees—find the Moonroot there, and life returns."
One mist-laced dawn, she packed her satchel and followed the forgotten path, the stones guiding her feet like old friends. The arch stood quiet at first—but as she approached, the air shimmered, the space within rippled, and a vortex of blue flame roared to life.
Without hesitation, Elira stepped through.
She emerged into a world bathed in gold and twilight. Towering spires floated among the clouds, and creatures with feathered antlers eyed her with curiosity. A path of glowing leaves wound toward a distant castle, where time moved like a river bending backwards.
Guided by a talking fox and aided by a trickster wind spirit, Elira faced trials woven from memory, shadow, and truth. Along the way, she discovered that the Moonroot did more than heal the body—it awakened the soul, unlocking power she never knew she held.
But all magic has a cost. To return, she would have to choose: bring back the cure and seal the portal forever… or stay, and become the guardian of the gateway, ensuring no unworthy soul ever crossed again.
