0Structure: The City is a vast, walled metropolis divided into 26 self-governing districts, known as "Nests" (the wealthy, secure areas) and the dangerous "Backstreets" (slums and lawless zones for the less fortunate).
Rulers: The "Wings": The City is ruled by 26 ultra-powerful mega-corporations, referred to as the "Wings". Each Wing possesses a unique "Singularity"—a highly advanced, often physics-defying technology that gives them absolute power and a monopoly over a certain aspect of life.
The Head: The Wings are in turn controlled by a supreme, enigmatic governing body known as "The Head," which enforces strict order and stability within the City.
The Outskirts and Ruins: Surrounding the City is the lawless Outskirts, and beneath it lie the mysterious Ruins, which house ancient and dangerous relics.
Abnormalities: These are mysterious and dangerous entities that manifest from humanity's collective subconscious, desires, and fears. They can have immense, often reality-warping, powers and are a major source of energy and chaos in the City.
Lobotomy Corporation: which attempts to safely contain and extract energy from Abnormalities. This ultimately leads to a massive event that fundamentally changes the City.
Fixers and Associations: Mercenaries and problem solvers who take on dangerous jobs across the City, hired by various "Associations". They range from low-level street thugs to "Color Fixers," individuals with near-superhuman abilities who are highly sought after for their skills.
The Distortion Phenomenon: A major plot point in later games where individuals overwhelmed by their regrets and the harshness of the world "Distort," transforming into monstrous physical manifestations of their despair.
E.G.O: The counterbalance to Distortion. E.G.O is the physical manifestation of a person's true self and will, achieved by confronting and overcoming their inner struggles. Those who manifest E.G.O gain unique, powerful abilities.
