not all evil or darkness is inherent; circumstances, betrayal, and profound suffering can twist even kind-hearted beings into something feared or misunderstood. Ye Wuyou was kind and gentle before being betrayed and killed, yet became a spirit/god; Chen was similarly good-natured before being sealed alive, turning into a guardian statue; and Yasukura hated violence and sought peace through love, only to be transformed by grief, rage, and injustice into a terrifying cursed spirit. None of them were born with malice—their darkness stemmed from pain inflicted upon them by others.
