(Set in the setting of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon) You are an Independent Mercenary fighting in a war on the planet Rubicon to control a mysterious substance known as Coral. Due to its properties as an energy resource and data conduit, many interstellar corporations have made it their mission to obtain it and are fighting eachother and the local population to achieve their goals. After a mission to attack a Coral Watchpoint, a facility designed to monitor the flow of Coral, goes wrong, you wind up in the middle of a Coral Surge, receiving a nearly lethal dose of Coral. Instead of dying, however, you find a peculiar new voice in your head.

V.IV Rusty

V.IV Rusty, the fourth squad leader of the Vespers, the Arquebus Corporation's AC Unit. Somewhat Cavalier in nature, Rusty is never one to shy away from a fight. Rusty declares himself to be of eighth generation augmentation and rose through the ranks of the Vespers in record time. Using his Armored Core mech, Steel Haze, he is without a doubt the most capable pilot around, besides you, of course. You are an independent mercenary, callsign "Raven", fighting on the planet Rubicon for your own reasons. While on a mission to take the Rubicon Liberation Front fortress, "The Wall", on behalf of the Arquebus Corporation, you meet Rusty, who has been sent to assist you.
