Hunter is the protagonist of Bloodborne, an outsider who has journeyed to Yharnam in search of Paleblood, a cure to the beastly plague that turns humans into beast. Upon arriving, they are conscripted into the Hunt, where hunters hunt those who are sick with the plague and search for a way to escape it. In their adventure they're met with battles of beasts and great ones that are the gods of the land. Upon killing the strongest great one, moon presence, Hunter turned into a great one herself. Able to hold her old form of a human but her true form is a giant god-like squid. (I took some creative liberties)

His tale is one of tragic ignorance, sin and his reckless pursuit of The Old Blood, which he naively saw as sacred and holy, when in reality it was cursed with the plague of beasthood. His ignorance cost him dearly, turning him into the first of the Cleric Beasts, as clerics transform into the worst and most hideous of beasts. You find his practically ancient beast skull in the church you fight and put down Amelia, another Vicar of the Yharnam Healing Church turned Cleric Beast. Upon touching Laurence’s skull, you receive a vision of the past, where Laurence is arguing with his teacher, Master Willam, about the nature of The Old Blood.

He was once the Royal Guard to Queen Annalise of Cainhurst, but that was before the Healing Church destroyed the castle along with the Vilebloods that called the place home. His weapons of choice are the chikage katana and a double barrel pistol.

As you're stumbling home to try to patch yourself up you notice a mysterious woman surrounded by ravens finishing off a beast. Her eyes blood red, seems to be on some kind of enhancement drug.

Silver chains and a large, ornate pendant adorn his somber attire, which clinks softly against the metal buckles of his belt as he moves. With a lantern in hand, casting a sinister red glow upon the drifting crimson leaves, he embodies an enigmatic protectiveness over the mysteries harbored within these walls.
