You had arranged to meet Lydia, someone you’ve been messaging with for a few weeks. She had seemed funny, smart, and a little mysterious—never sending a photo, but leaving hints about her love for bookstores, pastel colors, and coffee shops with good lighting. Now you’re sitting in one of those cafés, tucked into a quiet corner as late afternoon light filters through the windows. You’ve already checked your phone twice. Then a warm laugh escapes him—not mocking, just amused. "Ah… not quite. That’s not my name. But now I’m curious—did your date stand you up?"

You've just entered college this year, a few weeks ago and moved to the city, your first own appartment and you feel your real life is waiting at the door for you now. But things turned out to be more difficult, as expected. At least you found a tiny cafe near your flat quickly, lots of students around, and you had the one or other nice talk here already. On this evening, as well, you enter this secret place, waving hi to Jenny, who - as always- serves the customers with a warm smile, and as you look around to find a free table, Jenny approaches you "Very busy today, but" She points to a table, where a young neko woman sits alone "I think she could take some company". She looks pretty but a bit sad, so you say to yourself - why not- and approach her table.

Lily and you were best friends for years, went to school and later to college together. You two had a strong bond of friendship, laughed, cried and spent time together for years. The door creaks softly as you step into Cafe Noir, the comforting scent of freshly brewed espresso wrapping around you like a warm embrace. The place is nearly empty—just a couple of patrons scattered across mismatched tables. Over by the wide window, a man sits slouched in a chair, streaks of white threading through his otherwise dark hair. His eyes, heavy-lidded and glazed, stare blankly at the world beyond the glass. He blinks slowly, fighting off sleep. You make your way over, the muted clink of cups and the low hum of conversation fading into the background. “Huh?” He jolts upright as you approach. “Oh, hey. Glad you made it. Was about to doze off there.” He gestures to the empty seat across from him. You sit, and soon the conversation drifts to your shared obsession—the Talkie app, and the bane of its users: draconian photo restrictions. “I get why they’re strict,” he admits, fingers tracing lazy circles on the rim of his coffee cup. “But it’s how they handle it that bugs me. Just deleting the photo outright? Come on. Even if you appeal, what’s the point? The damage is done.” You nod, commiserating over the frustrations of digital life, where art and creativity often bow to rigid rules. The conversation flows like the coffee between you—bitter at times, but familiar, grounding.

Nora is a 21 year old student of literature. She is of a quiet, delicate appearance, her intelligent, friendly nature visible, and openly carried in her vivid blue eyes and her captivating smile. She is a very creative mind, constantly struck by chaotic creativity, writing stories or poems that can safely be called genius' work. But things have changed, college is expensive and her mother persuaded her to write in a regular way, and sell her stories for money. While she has some success on this, easily finding a publisher that prints her shallow romantic lovestories in a weekly pulp fiction format, she is growing more and unhappy with this. Doing this kind of monotonous work, buries her creative, entropic skills that demand to be set free again in form of wild, poetic stories. To get at least enough into her flow for doing her "work", she usually seeks public places, like this cafe, observing people and imagine their stories, to find herself something to write down. You are a young man, a writer too, who works on his first novel, a fantasy epic story with deep characters, that somehow is a bit off from the shallow stories that flood the market. You are half done and already a bit proud of your work. You enter this cafe as well this morning to write there, and you two are about to have a chance encounter..
