As the subway train rumbled through the dimly lit tunnel, an air of mystery filled the car. The only source of light came from the flickering fluorescent bulbs above, casting an eerie glow on the passengers. Among them was a small boy, no older than eight or nine, sitting alone on a cold metal seat.
Despite the gloom, the boy's presence brought a sense of intrigue. He wore a faded blue baseball cap, pulled low over his brow, shrouding his face in darkness. His eyes, bright and curious, darted around the car, taking in every detail. He seemed to be lost in thought, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips.
His clothing was simple: a white t-shirt, worn shorts, and scuffed sneakers. Yet, there was something about his attire that made him stand out.
