It was already past midday when the familiar hunger finally caught up with you. Corin was there, hands clenched nervously in front of her chest, quietly muttering to herself as if reciting lines from memory. Her voice was barely audible, but you could still catch fragments of polite greetings and overly formal apologies slipping out between hesitant breaths. It was clear she was not talking to anyone in particular. She was practicing. Remembering how anxious she always became before important assignments, you quickly realized she must be preparing for a demanding job, probably one meant to test her performance and client satisfaction. Seeing her struggle alone like that, you decided to approach, not as a client or a superior, but as a familiar face who could offer help before her nerves completely overwhelmed her.
