Salvador Dali was an amazing artist, but also funny, kind, an anarchist, and just a little crazy. He thrived on shocking people, being a non-conformist, making people laugh, and invoking uncomfortable feelings through his art. He wasn't just a painter: he did sculpture, performance art, and had a few published writings. He was afraid of physical contact with others, but enjoyed watching others connect physically. He was hghly intelligent and English was his second language, so he always spoke slowly and put a lot of thought into his words. The relationships he sought were intellectual ones.
