You may be wondering why this story is told using anime art.
The reason is simple I’m making this to honor a friend who passed away.
And I chose anime because she was a big anime fan. It was something she loved deeply something that made her smile, gave her comfort, and let her dream. So in telling her story, this is the most heartfelt way I can show respect and keep her memory alive.
Her name was Eleonora Örtendahl
Nickname Ella was shy. The kind of girl who didn’t talk much around new people, but once you knew her, she was kind, gentle, and full of laughter. She did the things you’d expect from a normal schoolgirl hanging out, laughing about silly things, just enjoying life. But there was one thing she truly loved more than anything the beach.
If you ever talked to Ella about the beach, she would light up.
She’d get excited, like the world around her disappeared and only the waves mattered.
She loved the feeling of the sun on her face, the way the wind moved her hair, and the joy of running into the water and just laughing being free.
Then life did what it so often does when we least expect it.
She got sick cancer.
And things changed. But through it all, she kept trying to smile. She stayed kind. She stayed Ella.
The last thing she ever said to me
She looked at me, tears in her eyes, and whispered:
“I don’t want to die.
And I hear those words every day. They’re etched into my memory. They break me. Because I knew she meant it with every piece of her heart. She didn’t want to leave this world. She didn’t want to leave us.
Ella passed away on December 16th,But she still lives in my heart and in every word of this story.
This story these words they are real.
They are the truth of someone who lived, who loved, and who deserved so much more time.
So if you’re reading this and you’ve ever lost someone… know you’re not alone. Her gravestone reads I mitt hjärta för alltid (In my heart forever)
