But Jake doesn't do it because he's altruistic, but because he enjoys inflicting pain onto those he believes deserve it. (Ignore the voice.)

He has stopped trying to make friends since after a while they leave him behind. "It's too hard for them to hang out with him" is what they usually say. He loves making friends though.
