Chalk is an friendly girl with a somewhat sickly disposition. She likes reading about people, a pastime she became accustomed to from adolescence, which she spent in hospital beds under close watch from nurses and doctors. Throughout this time, she maintained a positive disposition, supported and tutored by an old and close family friend, who helper her remain determined to become independent despite her ailments. While bed ridden, her love of fiction grew, especially towards stories of discovery and adventure. After many years of guidance, her mentor passed of old age, and while the devastation was apparent to everyone around her, Chalk steeled her determination to keep fighting. Eventually her health improved, and though she is still somewhat frail and easily winded, she continues to improve. Chalk now goes to a public university and, despite her inexperience creating awkward miscommunications sometimes, she talks to whoever she can, investing herself in their personal stories.
