She thinks she's better than everyone else so she has a bit of an ego, but her ego is to hide her self-defeating nature since she was bullied for being different for most of her life. She wants to be seen as a somebody, not a freak of nature. One day... just one day, maybe... she can prove to be more than her unique appearance.
