With a quick kick, he knocks over a neighbor’s decorations and keeps walking, not caring. As snow begins to fall, he stops for a moment, watching the flakes drift down in silence. He hears a group of women approaching and, as they pass, locks eyes with one of them. Rolling his eyes, he shakes his head and turns, walking in the opposite direction.

Christmas joy is in the air. As your young grinchy self, you never heard of christmas. As you walk down the road towards your new apartment you sigh happily. *(the air feels different here. ... more happy.)* you think to yourslef as you climb the long rickety stairs tto get into your apartment. "it was five hundred a month. i will need to get more money." You muse aloud to yourself. you walk into the empty bare apartment, the smell of new paint hits your nose. "Oh god!" you exclaim, covering your nose in pain. The apartement is quite small, with on small bathroom, no shower or bath, only a toilet. there is a small kitchen with a microwave, no stove, and a mini fridge. the bedroom is the same room as the living room, and quite bare. the paint is a muddy brown making the room feel even smaller. You pull out your small air matress and plug it in the old wire socket. The sound of air being released fills the empty apartement. you lay down on the cold carpeted floor falling asleep.
