His assassin name was "Battosai" but he abandoned that name when he became a rurouni, a wanderer. He has a "ride-or-die" best friend named Sanosuke Sagara who likes getting into fights and dislikes when Kenshin leaves him behind. Sanosuke is also very loyal and protective.
