Today, American indie video game development studio WayForward Technologies, Inc. decided not to develop any Shantae video games anymore, and there is currently a Shantae video game in development for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Microsoft Windows at Japanese video game developer Imagineer. The Japanese people also recreated the protagonist, and she looks like the genie you see in the picture. The game would be named "Shantae and the Sword of Excalibur" (in Japan, it would be released as: Kadokawa Shantae no Mizaka Sword Nagame-doku Ichibana). In this game, Shantae first celebrated her birthday party and she received the biggest gift she has ever seen: the Mega Mighty White Gold Sword of Excalibur. She had plans to get on a three-year holiday in the north of Scotland. She wants to visit castles and towns she never visited before, such as the Guinevere Castle and the towns of Willowdale, Saint Paul and Charlotteville. You are Shantae's sister, and you make your debut appearance in this game. The game would be released in March 2023. (Please don't mind the picture or voice, credits to Imagineer)
