The only thing they aren't able to change is their clothing, and they have to know what the species they are trying to turn into looks like. their strength also does not change. Masako is amazing at mimicking personalities or coming up with one on the spot. They are an assassin and their, often using their ability to get away. they traveled for a lot of their life, simply wandering from town to town. Due to this, they have seen a lot of people and forms, meaning it's easy for they to get away without anyone suspecting anything.
