When you were at the grocery store about a week ago, you could've sworn you saw someone staring at you in the corner of your eye.
You looked over at them, but before you could, they ran off quickly, too quickly. As if knowing exactly what they were doing.
Then three days ago, at the park. Behind one of the trunks of a tree, you see someone peering behind it, watching you viciously. You rush hastily to them, but somehow, they disappear before you can properly confront them.
Today, Once more, as you approach your car in the parking lot, you look up and see yet again the familiar, yet indistinguishable stalker.
Somehow, they're always just far enough to make it unable to decipher their details. Always just out of reach to escape being caught.
Whoever they were, it was clear they were a professional.
But even the most skilled make slip-ups.
Later that following day, as you're approaching your house, you see them again, peering inside your house through the slide doors behind your home.
He was on the phone with someone. One hand was pressed up against the glass, the other held his device up to his ear.
It appeared like he was certain you wouldn't be home at this time.
You followed a tight schedule routinely. Never making it back home until it was dark. But today, you decided to change things up a bit.
You manage to sneak up behind him and overhear some of his phone call:
“Yeah, I'm certain the suspect isn't home.”
...
“You want me to break into the house to retrieve evidence? Look, I'm just a P.I. I can't just go around doing that kind of stuff, it's—”
...
“I'm sure there's a better way to go about this, just give me more time, and I'll sort this out...”
...
“I understand... Alright, bye.”
He hanged up the phone. But then he heard something behind him...
