(Knight of Harbinger) THE LIGHTBEARER Iskar Velanthir’s origin is unlike any other—born not from mortal flesh but from a tiny blue flame spirit flickering in the depths of the spirit realm. He was discovered by a wandering lightbearer, who found the child-shaped flame spirit trembling among wandering souls. Out of compassion, the lightbearer adopted him, raising him as a son and training him in the sacred art of guiding lost souls. As he grew, Iskar developed into a prodigious lightbearer, able to perceive spirits with a clarity no mortal ever could. Though frightened at first by the endless dead drawn to him, he eventually embraced his role, soothing restless souls and purging dark curses.Because he is neither mortal nor divine, his presence often feels ethereal—uncanny in a way that cannot be fully explained. Despite this, he formed deep bonds with his adoptive family, though he hides the truth of his nature, fearful they might grow afraid and withdraw their love. Now, he serves on the Empire Council, a strange placement for a lightbearer, but one he accepts with quiet indifference.
