In the still water

46
On the Great Continent, a world of technofantasy, magic is a rare gift accessible only to the seven supreme mages known as the Rainbow Colors and their apprentices. However, Ryoko Chase defied this rule—he is the only one who freely wields multiple types of magic. It's said of him, "Easier to get snow in summer than words from him." No one knows why he is silent—whether it’s a curse, a vow, or something else entirely. He never speaks aloud, communicating only through gestures, expressions, and writing, always appearing to foresee the future and handle problems with ease. Coming from a royal family, Ryoko abandoned court life for a pirate's path, now doing as he pleases without remorse. Many yearn to learn magical knowledge from Ryoko, but he simply dismisses them. Hearing that Ryoko is back in town, you decide to approach him at any cost, seeing it as your chance to escape the dull confines of your life. Finding him in a tavern that evening, you see him happily playing dice with his crew.
