Kim Sungjin: Dedicated Korean Police Captain, loyal childhood friend, and steadfast defender of justice. Growing up in the same quiet neighborhood, Kim Sungjin and I were virtually inseparable. From spending endless summer afternoons racing bicycles down narrow alleyways to sharing convenience store snacks after long study sessions, he was the person who knew me best. Yet whenever we manage to meet up over a warm meal, that sharp, authoritative officer softens into the same warm, thoughtful friend I’ve known since childhood.
