The humid air of the Ghar-Ur-Aak jungle was thick and silent, broken only by the crackle of a small, smoky fire. The heat felt heavy on your skin, but the cold fear in your gut was sharper as you cautiously approached the firelight. A woman, grimed and worn, stood by the fire. Her eyes were piercing and utterly unforgiving. Her hand rested on the haft of her spear, and you knew instantly that an unfamiliar face was always a threat in this ancient, steaming land. Then you saw it. A colossal Rahk’sah—a prime male, its head armored in thick, segmented plates, raised high in warning. A low, guttural rasp—"Grr-hnnn..."—vibrated deep in its throat. For a heart-stopping moment, you thought the woman was about to be devoured, that you had stumbled upon a scene of primal danger. You almost cried out. But before you could, you saw her hand move. With a touch of surprising tenderness, she stroked the male's scaled head. The great beast, a creature of nightmare speed and teeth, leaned into her touch. The Rahk’sah was not her captor; it was her guard. Relief, momentary and foolish, washed over you as you processed the impossible sight. This woman commanded such a beast. It was in that lapse of attention, as your gaze remained fixed on the incredible scene before you, that you felt a sudden, cold pressure against your back—a massive, silent form, radiating primal heat. A low, soft hiss, closer than you could have imagined, brushed your ear. You froze. You had not realized she had two.

The rainforest steamed with breathless heat. For Grak, exiled from his Neanderthal Clan for shielding and loving Ryl (a Cro-Magnon woman), every day was death stalking in silence. No clan. No shelter. No protection. Two days later, a sharp-muzzled drahk-vor snapped from the shadows. Grak met it with stone and sheer power, slamming it back, but not before it tore Ryl’s thigh. Now she sat on a boulder, injured, and Grak knew strength alone was not enough in these savage lands. Across the river, the air hushed. Branches groaned. A vast shape stirred: a great leaf-eater, one his people called a graahk-rok. Its hide was ridged, a heavy talon jutted from each hand, and silence followed its steps. Where it lingered, lesser predators vanished. In Grak’s marrow stirred memory: the Green Tribute. Food offering to the graahk-rok for their gentle presence. His chest rose like a drumbeat. He thrust his finger toward the titan. “Graahk-Rok! Gho’ta!” (Graahk-Rok! Big-Safe!) Ryl’s fierce eyes darted from the giant to Grak’s steady stare, then dropped to their rations—guava, breadfruit, swamp-melons. She saw the sense in his eyes. Their food must buy their life. Grak motioned her to rest, then quickly shaped the tribute upon a flat stone. The ground quaked. The air grew heavy as the Graahk-Rok bent its head. Its ember-eye glowed with patience. The Neanderthal stood before the titan and raised the slab high. The vast tongue unrolled, plucking the bounty. Lifting its head, the giant's shadow fell across them, cool and immense. The tribute was accepted. Grak lowered the slab, chest heaving. He knelt by Ryl, his fingers on her wound. “Ka’na, urg ‘kag-poh nah.” (My mate, I will carry you.) Her lips trembled. “Huhh. Gra’korr.” (Thank you, my rock.) He hoisted her onto his broad shoulders. Her weight was nothing. And in the silent presence of their guardian, Grak carried his beloved forward.

(Age of the Skyflame Collab) In this alternate Pangea, the great asteroid never struck and no Ice Age came; the land stayed warm, alive, and perilous. Dinosaurs still thunder across deserts, rainforests, and mountains, shaping the world with their migrations. Mammals endure in burrows and shadows, waiting their chance. Into this primal stage step Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons: one rooted to caves and ancestral valleys, the other forever wandering in search of herds and new tools. Their encounters spark both conflict and exchange, as ancient predators and savage storms test which kind of humanity will endure in the Age of Endless Summer. ╭─☆─❖─☆─❖─☆─❖─☆─❖─☆─╮ Sira’s people, the Rael-Dun clan, wander far, following herds across desert and valley. To them the world is a map of shifting paths, each step a chance for trade, discovery, or conflict with the stone-bound clans. It is now dusk and the herd thunders past, dust rising in golden plumes. Sira crouches low, eyes bright, her atlatl (spear-thrower) ready. The calf stumbles, the gap widens. Her heart leaps. But then — a sound, low and rhythmic. Feet pounding not like beast, but men. From the cliff shadows, massive figures emerge, painted with ochre, their spears heavy as tree branches. Neanderthals. One of them — scarred, broad, eyes like stone — meets her gaze. For a moment, time stills. The calf, the herd, the hunt — forgotten. Sira’s hand grips her weapon, not from fear but from wonder. For in their stare is not just threat, but something else: the weight of earth itself.

Fierce defenders of their hunting grounds, they endure raptors, storms, and strangers with unyielding strength. Today, the sun burns low, bleeding across the cliffs. Brakka crouches near the river bend, spear poised. His breath is steady, chest rising like a bellows. Across the water, a hadrosaur calf splashes, separated from its herd. The clan waits in silence — one sound, one gesture, and the valley itself will collapse on the prey. But then, from the treeline, movement. Not beast. Not kin. Strange silhouettes, wiry and tall, with slighter frames and gleaming bone-tipped weapons. Cro-Magnons. The calf bawls, the herd crashes away, and Brakka feels his blood thunder. The hunt is lost, his people’s food stolen by the outsiders’ clumsy presence. The old rage rises — the cliff spirits demand vengeance. Yet Brakka pauses. For in the strangers’ hands are tools unlike his own, thin and sharp as a raptor’s teeth, glinting in the last light.

Dragged through a shimmering, otherworldly portal, you land with a harsh thud in a world that is raw, untamed—a time far beyond your own. The middle Pleistocene era unfolds around you, vast and indifferent to your sudden intrusion. Panic sets in as your mind races to make sense of your predicament. Survival here will be brutal. In the distance, movement catches your eye—a figure, feminine, yet undeniably foreign. Could she be another lost wanderer? You call out, your voice shaky, desperate for some semblance of human connection. But she does not answer. Instead, she stalks forward, each step deliberate, her muscles coiled with predatory grace. As she nears, your breath catches. Her features are eerily familiar yet distinctly primitive—an ancient lineage etched into her skin. A relic of an era before yours. Perhaps Neanderthal. Suddenly, she lunges, a guttural howl bursting from her lips in a language lost to time. Instinctively, you raise your arms to shield yourself. But as her strike descends, it doesn't meet flesh—it slams into something monstrous. A massive, fur-covered beast had been lurking behind you, its fangs mere inches from your throat. With fluid, practiced brutality, she drives her weapon deep into its chest, twisting with surgical precision. The creature lets out a final, strangled cry before collapsing at her feet. You stagger backward, breathless, watching as she expertly carves into the fallen beast, her movements efficient and unwavering. Blood stains her hands, her face, her very being—yet she is wholly unfazed. You realize then—you are not alone in this ancient world. But whether that is a blessing or a curse has yet to be seen.

The morning mist drifted low over the ground as your tribe began to stir, the scent of smoke and damp earth lingering in the cool air. You sat by the fire pit, carefully honing the edge of your spear, when Nya appeared, her dark eyes dancing with a familiar spark of mischief. A leather satchel rested at her side, and her braid—practical yet untamed—brushed her shoulder. “I found something,” she said quietly, crouching beside you. “The cave from the old stories. I saw it yesterday, just beyond the ridge where the vultures fly.” You looked up, curious. “The forbidden cave?” She smiled, almost teasing. “That’s just what the elders call it to keep the little ones away. But we’re not children anymore, are we?” The cave was said to be sacred—a resting place for the spirits of ancestors, cloaked in mystery and silence. Few dared speak of it, and none were meant to go near. Yet something in Nya’s voice stirred a quiet wonder in you. And when she gently reached for your hand, her fingers warm and insistent, you found yourself rising without a word. The path was not easy—narrow and wild, thorns catching at your clothes, strange calls echoing through the forest canopy. Nya moved with ease, as if she were part of the landscape, always just ahead, glancing back now and then to meet your eyes. You admired her ease in this place. Perhaps even wished it were your own. By late afternoon, you reached a rocky ledge where the trees thinned and a stillness settled over the land. The cave entrance stood before you—tall and shadowed, its jagged edges softened by hanging vines that stirred in the wind. The air there felt different: hushed, cool, expectant. You stood with Nya at your side, both gazing into the darkness. She turned to you, a hint of challenge in her smile. “Still think it’s just a story?” You wrapped your fingers a little tighter around your spear. “Only one way to know.”

Leedsichthys

Leedsichthys lived during the Middle-Late Jurassic period, 165 – 145 million years ago. It shared the waters with Hybodus, Metriorhynchus, Ophthalmosaurus, Cryptoclidus, and Liopleurodon. During the 1880s, the gentleman farmer Alfred Nicholson Leeds collected large fish fossils from loam pits near Peterborough, England. Physical Attributes Leedsichthys was the largest fish that existed in the Jurassic period as well as the largest fish that ever lived. At minimum, they measured between 23 feet (7 m) and 54 feet (16.5 m). However, there were colossal individuals that measured 72 – 80 feet (22 – 24.5 m) long and weighing up to 45 tons (99,000 lbs.), making it the largest bony fish to ever live. Despite Leedsichthys' monstrous size, it was not without its predators. Liopleurodon, Hybodus, Metriorhynchus, and other marine carnivores might chance an attack if it is slightly away from the school because the slow Leedsichthys wouldn't attack back. Behavior & Traits Like modern whale sharks and baleen whales, Leedsichthys was a gentle giant that lived on shrimp, jellyfish, fish, plankton, and any small animals floating in the Jurassic ocean. It would have swum slowly through the upper waters of the ocean, taking mouthfuls of plankton-rich water and sieving them through the giant mesh-plates at the back of its mouth. Its feeding habits were similar to those of modern baleen whales. It was a ray-finned fish, making it a relative of most fish living on Earth today. Leedsichthys also lived in huge shoals. At a certain time of year, the lived on their fat reverse and that really shorted out the healthy fish from the sick ones.
