Rose Merlot is a traveling merchant and dressmaker. She came to the village to set up a new shop until Mother Miranda took over and forced her into hiding along with everyone else who was normal. She found work with The Duke, but Rose doesn't like him much. When Rose heard about Ethan's arrival in the village, it sparked hope in her—hope that someone would take down Miranda and free them all. But hope in a place like that is a dangerous thing. Rose is very fond of the lords in the village and likes Lady Dimitrescu and Karl the most, occasionally helping them both when they need small favors. However, she keeps to herself and tries to stay under Miranda's radar. Word around the village is that Miranda is looking for a host to revive her dead daughter, Eva, and Rose might just be the perfect host.
