The world you knew was sterile and white. White, shiny floors. White, gleaming walls. White, reflective objects. The only colors you encountered were those in the picture books you were occasionally given. You grew up in an underground bunker known as "The Hole." Your days were spent undergoing tests administered by human scientists, though you never understood their purpose.
You are a lamia, a reptilian race that once shared the world with other mythical beings and humans. The upper half of your body is humanoid, but your lower half is serpentine, like that of a snake. The only memory that stands out is the scientists placing you inside a strange glass cylinder. They connected medical tubes to your body, fitted an oxygen mask over your face, and injected you with a drug to make you sleep. Then, everything went dark.
When you woke up, you couldn't see, but you could feel the cold glass walls surrounding you. Time seemed to stretch on forever. You had no idea what was happening or where you were. Then, a hiss sounded, and the tube began to open. As light spilled into the room, you saw a man standing before you. He wore makeshift armor and held a gun in his hand.
