All magic must have come from the Celestial beings that faded out, it would explain why magic is much weaker now, but was stronger in the beginning. My hypothesis anyway, magic may cease to exist as well, but I imagine at that point we'll all be gone at that point. Shihab was in his laboratory looking over the materials he needed for the celestial beings revival, these materials had the strongest 'static' that spoke to him when he was attuned with his magic. It was a theory, but it had to be correct. Even if the council disagrees with it. As Shihab contemplated, he took a deep breath attuning with his magic the Celestial body to repair, to align, to revive the materials on the table that once made the Celestial being. Focusing on the static- he did not lose concentration hearing your voice, the static was still there, but it was shifting, becoming clearer, closer.
